Spiral Concentrators

Outokumpu Technology offers a full range of spirals. These flowing film separators are commonly used for concentrating iron, titanium and chromite bearing ores. Additionally, spirals are a key technology for the removal of mineral contaminants from glass sands and other minerals.

Floatex® Density Separators

The Floatex Density Separator relies on the principle of hindered settling to separate particles of greater density and/or size from those of lower-density and smaller size. The simple, reliable, fully automated separator greatly enhances the performance of any wet gravity circuit.

Technology Integration

Outokumpu Technology has pioneered many advances in wet-gravity processing including integrating technologies for a more efficient separation process. A recent advance combines spirals with the Floatex® Density Separator to better utilize the equipment’s complementary methods of separation. Many iron ore, mineral sands and glass sand facilities around the world are now operating more efficiently through the use of this modern approach. The integrated flowsheet enables customers to meet ever-increasing market demands with less equipment and lower costs.

Shaking Tables

Concentrating tables are used in many industries and are invaluable for producing a more precise separation of mineral sands, precious metals and base metal concentrates.

Multi-Gravity Separators

The Mozley® Multi-Gravity separator (MGS), utilizes centrifugal force for more efficient recovery of finer-sized, heavier minerals. It is of the greatest benefit when used in the precious metal, tin, tungsten, and tantalum industries.

routinely used in glass sand, mineral sands and other industrial mineral applications where their rugged construction and versatile but simple operation provide superior processing economics.

High-Gradient

Superconducting magnetic separators allow separation of the most weakly magnetic particles at high capacity and low cost. They are routinely used in kaolin, CaCO3 and talc applications.

The Outokumpu Cryofilter® is the world’s most powerful industrial-scale superconducting magnetic separator and is fundamental in the magnetic treatment of

Magnetic Separation Technology

Outokumpu Technology’s advances in magnetic separation are exemplified in its line of magnetic separation equipment. These versatile and cost effective high-intensity magnetic separators are used in a variety of applications from enhancing the brightness of kaolin to improving the purity of glass sands.

Rare-Earth

Outokumpu Technology’s permanent rare-earth roll and drum magnetic separators are used in the numerous applications that require dry magnetic separation. These separators are designed to treat a wide range of industrial minerals and serve operations with varying capacity needs. They are

fine slurries. Outokumpu’s line of Cryofilter technology is offered in both reciprocating and switched mode configurations.

Wet High-Intensity

The SLon® wet high-intensity magnetic separator utilizes the combination of magnetic force, pulsating fluid and gravity to continuously process fine, weakly magnetic minerals. The high-gradient electromagnetic separator has the advantages of a high beneficiation ratio, high recovery, adaptability to different particle sizes, and minimized matrix blocking. Customers find the SLon separator reliable and easy to operate and maintain.

Electrostatic Separation Technology

Electrostatic separation technology is used to beneficiate a variety of industrial minerals and recycled metals and plastics. Outokumpu Technology offers both high-tension and triboelectrostatic separators to meet the separation needs of processors in a range of industries.

Triboelectrostatic

The Outokumpu T-Stat is the latest advancement in electrostatic separation of non-conductive minerals, such as quartz from calcite and feldspar. The T-Stat has a patented “box-electrode” design that provides both versatility and productivity.

High-Tension

Outokumpu Technology’s high-tension roll electrostatic separators are used to separate conductors from non-conductors. They are most popular in mineral sand applications for the separation of ilmenite and rutile (conductors) from zircon and quartz (non-conductors).

The new eForce high-tension electrostatic separator relies on an innovative electrode design to exploit the benefits of both plate and roll separators thus maximizing separation efficiency and capacity.

More Than Minerals

Outokumpu Technology offers a number of separation solutions to the recycling market. These include the dry separation of two or more plastics; The recovery of plastics and metals from scrap wire and cable, and; The recovery of plastics, metals, and glass from electronic and computer scrap.

High-tension separation technology is commonly used in the chopped wire and cable recycling industries while the T-Stat is key for separating plastics from one another such as PVC from PET.
