    OBJECTIVE:

I am seeking new challenges as an Electromechanical Technician. I have spent a number of years working in both the Medical and Semiconductor Fabrication Business building and servicing their equipment. Over the years I have spent time usingmost shop tools: Laths, Milling machines, saws, drill presses, grinders to namea few. I started working as an electronics technician and have designed troubleshot and fabricated boards. I have designed and built cables and interfaces andtested completed unites. My work experience includes building and testing NIR interferometers and spectrometers. I also have experience working with most electronics test equipment, O-scopes, DVM's and more.

    MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Over the years I have worked for many well known companies such as National Semiconductor, Honeywell, INMOS Corp, Unisys Corp, Rockwell International, International Rectifier, Applied Micro Circuits, Hewlett Packard and General Atomics

Luminous Medical, Inc Carlsbad, CASr. Electromechanical Technician

Luminous Medical is developing a Glucose Monitor (GM) that addresses the rapidlygrowing clinical demand for better, safer glycemic control in the intensive care unit (ICU), operating room (OR) and intermediate care units. I have been fortunate to have worked in the R-D development, building and testing of the product.I built plastic and metal parts using a lathe, milling machine, horizontal andvertical metal cutting band saw. At times I modified surface mounted boards, andbuilt custom circuit boards to aid in board development. Assembled product, built cables, wrote work instructions as well as ran tests and collected test data.My work experience includes building and testing NIR interferometers and spectrometers laser and optical alignment. I was also responsible for the Controlled Inventory area and kept the inventory up to date.

My responsibilities were to build and run High Vacuum systems used in sputteringor evaporating of Beryllium on targets used in future fusion experiments. I worked mainly in the ICF (Internal Confinement Fusion) area, which required me to work in a clean room. One of my responsibilities was to design and build toolingfor an Ion beam evaporator that required very tight uniformity controls for oddshaped substrates. Other designs of mine were: a motor control circuit that created a short but intense jerking motion while turning to limit the sticking of round substrates during metal deposition, and a mechanism that used gravity instead of electrical motors to turn substrates on a rotating carousel while depositing metal in an evaporator.

I worked in the R-D group for printers, installed engineering changes both electronic and mechanical. Troubleshot and repaired engineering test unites.

    EDUCATION:

    Applied Micro Circuits Corp

    San Diego, CASr. Electromechanical Technician

Repaired and maintained all semiconductor fabrication equipment. My main responsibility was ion implanters and thin film metal deposition. My duties also tookme into areas such as wet and dry etch, diffusion furnaces and photolithography.I was involved in machine teardowns and complete overhauls in all areas which included calibration and complete operational checks. Gas bottle changes, implanter source rebuilds and metal deposition target changes were a common occurrence.I was responsible for rebuilding high vacuum cryogenics pumps, diffusion pumpsas well as mechanical pumps. Trouble shot vacuum leaks using vacuum leak checkers and helium gas because base pressures would normally run in the low seven range to high eight. Due to the age of the equipment most electronic boards were har

d or impossible to find so my job was to repair the board with new circuits I designed.
