2.3 PUSH-BUTTONS FUNCTIONS

2.3.1 ON/OFF - Switches the appliance on and off (only some models)

2.3.2 Half load - For VD4 functionality reduces the no. of rinses from 4 to 3 in COTTON cycles; - For VD55 functionality reduces the no. of rinses from 3 to 2 in COTTON cycles

2.3.3 Super-rinse - Increases the water fill in two rinses of the COTTON cycles (with 2 levels)

2.3.4 Extra rinse - Increases one rinse in the COTTON programmes (from 3 to 4 VD55 functions)

2.3.5 Economy - Reduces the washing temperature at 60º in 95º COTTON cycles (the programme duration remains

unaltered)

2.3.6 90º Cotton - In models with thermostats at fixed temperatures: performs the heating phase in COTTON cycles (n. 1 and

2) at 90º instead of 60ºC.

2.3.7 Temperature selection 30° - 40° - 60° - 90° - In models with fixed temperatures these push-buttons are used to select the washing temperature.

2.3.8 Cold wash - In models with fixed-temperature thermostats, disconnects the power supply from the heating elements.

2.3.9 Rinse hold - Stops the appliance leaving water in the tub at the end of the final rinse (in SYNTHETICS, DELICATES and

WOOL cycles). If a jumper is fitted between timer contacts H2.1 and H2.2, this option can also be selected for COTTON cycles.

- When the push-button is pressed again, the programme is completed with the drain and spin phase.

2.3.10 No spin - It excludes all spin phases

2.3.11 Spin reduction - It reduces the final spins as shown in the table below. It can be of 2 types depending on how it is connected

to the electronic control.

7 SAFETY FEATURES

7.1 Anti-unbalancing during spinning The control of the balance is performed during the movement of the drum at a speed of 85 rpm. i.e. before the spin cycle. If the load is particularly unbalanced, the safety device intervenes and the drum rotates three times at a speed of 55 rpm. in order to distribute the load and then it is checked again. If the load remains unbalanced, this procedure is repeated again; the number of attempts is limited to the max. time of every spin phase (500 or 700 sec.). After this period, the timer passes to the next step and the spin cycle is skipped.

7.1.1 Description of spin phases with possible intervention of the safety device (anti-foam or water in tub) During the spin phases, the electronic control verifies the pressure switch condition (1st level), which must be on “empty” position. (see spin cycle diagrams page 12) Phase 1

During this phase, the pressure switch is on “full” and the motor functions for 3 min (4”ON/12”OFF). Phase 2

Spin C2R and C2 The pressure switch is on “empty”, the motor rotation is 4”ON/6”OFF for 90” with a total of 9 movements.

The last movement is performed in the opposite direction of the spin. If during this period the pressure swtich return to “full” the safety device intervenes and the electronic

control cuts power to the motor. When the motor stops, the sequence restarts from the beginning of the phase.

Spin C1 The pressure switch is on “empty”, the motor rotation is 4”ON/6”OFF for 120” with a total of 12

movements. The last movement is performed in the opposite direction of the spin. If during this period the pressure swtich return to “full” the safety device intervenes and the electronic

control cuts power to the motor. When the motor stops, the sequence restarts from the beginning of the phase.

Phase 3

Spin C2R and C2 The distribution of the load and the measurement of the unbalancing are performed with motor rotations at

a speed of 300 rpm, 450 rpm and 450 rpm alternating every 30” with a motor rotation at a speed of 90 rpm.

In this phase no safety device controls the pressure switch.

Spin C1 The distribution of the load and the measurement of the unbalancing are performed with motor rotations at

a speed of 450 rpm for 10”, adding 50” at a speed of 90 rpm. In this phase no safety device controls the pressure switch.

Phase 4

During this phase the motor the motor reaches the spin speed gradually (C2R/540rpm, C2/ 740rpm and C1/1200rpm).

If during the increase of the spin speed the pressure switch contact returns to ”full” for 11” (with a motor speed higher than 100 rpm), the electronic control cuts power to the motor, a drain phase is performed for 1 minute and the sequence restarts from the beginning of the phase 2. This can occur for a max. time of 500” (for C2R-C2) or 700” (for C1), after that the timer passes to the following step.

LEV_0 = pressure switch “empty” LEV_1 = pressure switch “full” A reading time of pressure switch on full B drain phase with motor stopped C restarts from the beginning

Page 14: Electrolux

SOI/DT 2004-02 dmm 14/23 599 36 31-16

7.2 Drum motor protection system In case of the following faults:

tachometric generator interrupted tachometric generator short-circuited power Triac open triac short-circuited rotor blocked motor protector or motor windings open

The electronic control makes three attempts to supply power to the motor; if the malfunction is still present three further attempts are performed after a 20 minute pause. No more power is supplied to the motor since the relay contacts are open. During these attempts the drum reaches a speed of about 260 rpm.

7.3 Drain protection system If after three minutes of the drain phase the pressure switch contacts do not close in “empty” position (faulty drain pump), the timer advances to the next position.

7.4 Power failure during spin cycle If a power failure occurs during a spin cycle, when the power is restored, the spin cycle is performed from the beginning. In case a second power failure occurs, the spin phase is skipped.

8.2.1 Washing programme control The timer, through the closure of a series of contacts (8T/8B, 7T/7B, 14T), transmits to the electronic control (16) the codes that define what operations are performed in the various steps. The electronic board controls the washing cycle depending on the appliance configuration and on the selected options (push-buttons and selector):

checks the closure of the pressure switch

powers the timer motor (18) through a TRIAC to control the direction and time of the drum rotation and to advance to the various steps.

8.2.2 Configuration of timer functions 16 Electronic control JC Connector which determines the timer functions

• VD54 if there is no connection between X2.1 – X2.2: - 4 rinses in cotton cycle - cotton rinses intermediate spins and synthetics, delicates and wool

final spins at a speef of 540 rpm.

• VD55 if there is a connection between X2.1 – X2.2: - 3 rinses in cotton cycle - cotton rinses intermediate spins and synthetics, delicates and wool final spins at a speef of 740 rpm.

JH This connector is used together with the “rinse hold” push-button.

• If there is no connection between H2.1 – H2.2, when the the rinse hold push-button is pressed it is performed in the SYNTHETICS, DELICATES and WOOL cycles.

• If there is a connection between H2.1 – H2.2 this function is performed also at the end of the rinses in the COTTON cycles.

8.3 Description of the main functions

8.3.1 Door closure The door safety device is powered through the closure of contacts of the main switch 2 (in some models) and of the contact B4.4 – A2.2 (18) of the timer. A few seconds after the switching on, the door is locked and the device contact (4) closes thus powering the appliance (contact 5-4). 1. Interference suppressor 2. ON/OFF push-button (some models) 3. Pilot lamp 4. Door safety device

8.3.2 1st level water fill The water fill solenoid valve (7) is powered in the following way: For all models - 1st level pressure switch contact (5) closed on

“empty” (contacts 11-12) - Timer contact closure (6) N6.5–N6.4 - Solenoid valve (7) - Pressure switch A-O (9) (contacts 31-32), drain

pump winding (8). Models with one level - At some steps the power supply occurs through

the closure of the contact N6.4-N6.3 Control of pressure switch closure The control of the position of the pressure switch (“empty” or “full”) is detected by the electronic board (16) by means of a “sensing” line (Lev.)

8.3.3 2nd level water fill To fill water at 2nd level, the solenoid valve (7) is powered in the following way: - 2nd level pressure switch contact (6) closed on

“empty” (contacts 31-32). - Closure of timer contact (6) N6.3- N6.4 - Solenoid valve (7) - Pressure switch A-O (9) (contacts 31-32), drain

pump winding (8).

8.3.4 Heating

8.3.4.1 Heating with adjustable thermostat The heating element (10) is powered in the following way: - 1st level pressure switch (5) closed on “full” (11-

14) - Closure of timer contact (15) A2.1-B4.2 - Safety pressure switch (12) closed on “full” (24-

21). - Adjustable or fixed 90° thermostat normally

closed (11) Warning This timer is “thermogradual”, therefore the heating time of water is predetermined. Through the adjustable thermostat it is possible decrease the prefixed temperature of the selected cycle, but the performing time does not change.

8.3.4.2 Heating with variodriver The VARIODRIVER can be mounted on some models. It is an electronic component which controls the water temperature more accurately. - 1st level pressure switch (5) closed on “full” (11-14) - Closure of timer contact A2.1-B4.2 (15) - Closure of contacts 1-2 of the variodriver (28) for

all the heating phase. The temperature is controlled by the NTC sensor (29) and when the desired temperature is reached the variodriver opens the contacts 1-2.

- Safety pressure switch (12) closed on “full” (21-24)

8.3.5 Economy/90° push-button In some models with fixed temperatures it is possible that the heating element is powered through a two-temperature thermostat: - A 90° thermostat normally closed (11) - A 60° thermostat normally closed (15) - A push-button (14) which can be of 2 types:

• E: this push-button is normally closed; if it is pushed the heating temperature of 90° cotton cycles will be reduced to 60°C.

• 90°: this push-button is normally open and the heating temperature of cotton cycles will be limited to 60°C; if it is pushed will be increased to 90°C.

Page 19: Electrolux

SOI/DT 2004-02 dmm 19/23 599 36 31-16

8.3.6 Drain The drain pump is powered: normally through the contact P5.1-W2.2 of the timer (10) and the contact 32-31 of the pressure switch A-O (9). At 18 step, by the half load push-button if featured and by the contact P5.1-W2.1 of the timer (10)

8.3.7 “Half load” push-button If pressed, the drain with spin at step 18 is not performed, thus saving a water fill in cotton rinses.

8.3.8 Drum rotation motor 16 Electronic control 24 Tachometric generator 25 Motor protector 26 Stator 27 Rotor The motor is powered by the electronic control through a relay; the rotation speed is regulated on the basis of the signal emitted by the tachometric generator.

A) SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Before intervention on any internal components, always remove the power plug from thesocket.

When possible, the ohmic resistance of the components should be measured rather thanmaking direct measurements of voltage and current.

Some parts of the mechanical structure of the appliance could be dangerous; it isnecessary to take care in order to avoid injuries.

B) PURPOSE OF THIS MANUAL

This manual is to provide technicians, who have already a basic knowledge of repairing washingmachines, with general information concerning this new range of products.

For more detailed information refer to:

- electrical diagram- programming- timer diagram- spart parts list

C) PRESENTATION OF APPLIANCES

This new range of washing machines consists of:

- A CARBORANâ base including the filter body on which different components are fixed(drain pump, circulation pump, inlet valve, module and suspension).

- A tub of CARBORANâ and a drum of stainless steel with a capacity of 42 liters.

On the tub there are compensating weights, one left and one right, and electricalcomponents such as heating element, thermostat, motor and cables.

- A cabinet including four side panels:• right, left and front panels electrogalvanized and thermolacquered;• rear panel electrogalvanizedOn this construction the tub is hanging up by four springs.

1 - “direct spray” inlet connectingpiece

2 - injection hole in the drum3 - tub4 - bearing5 - deflecteur

a) Advantages of the “Direct Spray” function

The “direct spray” function with a spraying system in the middle of the drum offers ahigh performance of washing and rinsing to the user with a low consumption of waterand energy.

“Direct Spray” principle:

- During the filling the circulation pump function permits to moisten quickly thewashing and thus to optimize the amount of water following the quantity andkind of washing.

- During the washing cycle the circulation of washing water permits a continuousspraying. This operation combined with the mechanical effect of the drumrotation permits to obtain a very high performance of wash.

- The circulation with foam control will also be used during the rinsing cycles tooptimize the water consumption.

b) Principle

The circulation pump brings the wash water from the drum to the left bearing, thenthis water is injected through the holes in the drum (2).

Page 38: Electrolux

- 7 -HV844-N 12.01 R.B. 599 51 32 96 EN

3) ”ECO”-washing system

a) Advantages of the “ECO” function

Due to the „ECO“ washing systems, with the ECO-ball in the durit-hose, the userachieves a high washing and rinsing result with a low consumption of detergent.

The detergent does not fall down as far as to the drain area during the filling cycle, but remains on the ECO-ball usable for the washing cycle.

b) Principle

During the filling cycle, a part of the water is conducted through the hose (9) into thefluff filter housing.

The water level in the fluff filter housing increases until the ECO-ball floats up in thedurit hose and locks the way to the tub (see figure).

ECO-ballDurit hose

The further existing water pressure is passed on through the hose (12) into the tub.

When selecting the drain pump, the ECO-ball is drawn downwards because of theunderpressure, the water in the tub can be drained.

TACHOMETRIKUS GENERÁTOROK ÉS KOMMUTÁTORHOZ HASZNÁLT KEFÉK / MOSÓGÉPEKBEN ÉS SZÁRÍTÓKBAN HASZNÁLT ASZINKRON MOTOROK

ÖSSZEGZÉSE, 02. Rev. A 650 - 1800 ford./perc centrifugálási sebességű modellekben használt kommutátor motorok gyártója: • SOLE / ACC / NIDEC • FHP • CESET • BSH • ECM • WELLING Ezen motorok mindegyike beszerelhető gyárilag ugyanabba a modellbe.

Bevezetés Az elektrosztatikus kisülés (ESD) a különböző elektromos feszültségű testek közötti töltésátvitel.

ESD-szabályok a szervizek számára

1. Először csatlakoztassa a DAAS-t a PCB-hez 2. Ezután helyezze az USB-csatlakozót a számítógépbe 3. Majd csatlakoztassa az USB-t az interfészeszközhöz 4. A programozási fázis során ne érintse meg a PCB-t (PCB-áramellátás)

Szoftverfrissítés esetén:

1. Először csatlakoztassa a DAAS-t a PCB-hez (ne érintse meg a PCB-t) – még mindig a készüléken 2. Ezután helyezze az USB-csatlakozót a számítógépbe 3. Majd csatlakoztassa az USB-t az interfészeszközhöz 4. A programozási fázis során ne érintse meg a PCB-t (PCB-áramellátás)

MEGJEGYZÉS: A földelés számára piacon szintén elérhetőek a „mobil ESD-szervizfelszerelések” és az „európai dugaszolócsatlakozók”: A 405506395/4 alkatrészszám elérhető a Distripartsnál mint “ESD szervizfelszerelés (ESD kit for Service)”. REVÍZIÓK:
