    The Roadster is the first production automobile to use lithium-ion batterycells and the first production BEV (all-electric) to travel more than 200 miles(320 km) per charge.The world distance record of 501 km (311 miles) for a production electric car

    on a single charge was set by a Roadster on October 27, 2009, Owned anddriven by Simon Hackett during the Global Green Challenge in outbackAustralia, in which it averaged a speed of 25 mph (40 km/h).

    Infinit's long awaited range-extended electric sports car theEmerg-E has been shown in Geneva and the specs we'vebeen awaiting are official:

    402 bhp (300 kW),

    0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds;

    a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h);

    a 300-mile (483-km) range using the three-cylinderrange-extender with 30 miles (48 km) electric-only; CO2

    output of 55 g/km (NEDC cycle).

    There are two electric motors in the center of the vehicleand they drive the rear wheels, so the intention seems tobe to create a brand hero with extraordinary dynamicperformance, so we just might see this car released. Yetanother pointer to the release of the vehicle is Infiniti's rolein the UK government's Technology Strategy Boardinitiative, whose aim is to speed the arrival of low-emissionvehicles. The Emerg-E is the first Infiniti to have beendeveloped in Europe and its advanced technologydeliberately draws on suppliers beyond Infiniti's usual base

    in "the quest to uncover the most innovative hardware andthe deepest knowledge base."

    Australias first locally designed and manufactured electric supercar will go on sale forless than $200,000 in January (2012).The Varley EVR450 has been developed in just nine months by Varley ElectricVehicles, the Brisbane-based division of the Varley Group, a 125-year-old privatelyowned Australian company.Varley says the EVR450 will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds making it

    just one-tenth slower than the $206,188 Tesla Roadster and will reach an

    electronically limited top speed of 200km/h.Varley is yet to confirm the EVR450s powertrain details, however we understand thesupercar will be powered by two locally sourced Ultramotive electric motors, eachproducing 150kW and 522Nm, leading to a combined maximum output of 300kWof power and an almighty 1044Nm of torque.Despite the awesome power, Varley says its lithium-ion battery-powered electricsupercar will have a range of 150km that can be extended to 300km when optionedwith the range-extension package.

    Mudri to its Zagreb headquarters, tasked with creating what itdescribes as the world's first electric supercar.Power for the Concept_One is provided by four electricmotors - two at each axle - delivering 800kW and 3800Nm oftorque. Energy is provided by a sizeable 92kWh battery

    At 1650kg, it's lighter than the Bugatti Veyron and heavierthan the Pagani Huayra - two of its more obvious rivals foroutright power.With a 0-100km/h time of 2.8 seconds, it's a hair slowerthan the former (2.46), and a touch quicker than the latter

    (3.2).Top speed is listed at 305km/h - not shabby, but well shortof the Veyron's 408km/h and the Huayra's 370km/h limits.Rimac hasn't revealed pricing for the Concept_One, but withonly 88 units planned, odds are good that it won't take long

    to sell.

    There is a 145kW electric motor at
