CHAPTER 1. ABOUT THE PRODUCT
1.1 Summarize
The High-Voltage Circuit Breakers dynamic characteristics testing
instrument is my company designed to meet the need of testing High-
Voltage Circuit Breakers . It takes the ARM7 unit for core to sample,
process and then output; the main characteristic is that its operated in
alt. It has many advantages such as intelligence, multi-function, accurate
data, strong anti-jamming, easy operation, small size, beautiful
appearance, etc; It can test the Circuit Breakers as follows: indoors or
outdoors Circuit Breakers with less oil or more oil, vacuum Circuit
Breakers, SF6 Circuit Breakers and so on.

1.7 Power Circuit Breakers

Please using the power wire by our company supply connects to the
power socket in the flank of the instrument, turn on the power Circuit
Breakers. If the instrument no work, check the fuse within the power
socket
Power requirementthe input AC Power must require
220V10%,50Hz.Make sure earthing.
1.8 Control Output
When power on, user can choose internal power or external power
in software. if choose internal power, the instrument supply power by
closing socket or opening socket(DC +) and common socket(DC -)(as
picture 7),if choose external power, the instrument dont supply power.
When chosen, the corresponding led will light.

reclosing test interface, the +,-sockets output DC current. This is using
stored energy to High-voltage Circuit Breakers Motor.

1.13 Opening test

Set time. For example, if the Circuit Breakers need 200ms to run, we
can set time 0.3s.
If no error tip, turn to the result interface. But if the relays inside the
machine dont work, will turn to the error interface as Picture 15, 16.
1.14 Reclosing Test
When power on, display as picture 12
First choose the kinds of Circuit Breakers, oil, vacuum, SF6 Circuit
Breakers. appear the next menuas picture 14user can set the

After, user can choose the Reclose to run Reclosing test. as picture2122the option of time is like the closing test and the opening test.
Choosing the next option ,rotate the Optical Encoder, choose you want
testing fromO-C(opening-closing),C-O(closing-opening),O-C-O(closing-
opening-closing),C-O-C(closing-opening-closing).Push down, will appear
one time to set(O-C-O,C-O-C will appear two),this time is a delay time
between the Circuit Breakers open and close(0.0s~9.9s).

1.15 Separate test
When power on, display as picture 12

After, user can choose the Low Voltage to run Separating test. At first
will into choosing power interface, confirm the choosing, into the set
interface of the separating test. As picture 14.

Set the percent of the voltage value, then choose the Close(closing
test run) or the Open(opening test run) push downafter , choose print or
back. On the basic of the Standard for hand-over test of electric
equipment, the Circuit Breakers should be false-action reliability on lower
than 30% of rated voltage, the Circuit Breakers should action reliability on
higher than 65%.
After push down run, will appear the interface as picture 21.if the
instrument dont check out the opening or closing sign at A1,the interface
will display false action, if check out, display action.

this button will change to delete.
3PageIf the test is reclosing test, this button can display the other
result. For example, test is closing opening test, first display the result of
the closing, push down Page, display the result of the opening.

Display the Breaks curve of twelve contacts and the current-timing

1.17 State of Contacts
User can see the real-time state of the twelve contacts .push down
the back option, back to main interface.
1.18 History Data
Display the history data. the instrument can save 24 group of opening
test or closing test data and save 8 group of reclosing test. if save more
data, will cover the oldest data.
The option of the interface:
1Loadwhen push down first, user can choose which group to read.
Push down again, will read the cursor point data.
2Nexthistory data of the opening test or closing test change to
history data of the reclosing test.3Deleteclear the history data of the opening test or closing test or
the history data of the reclosing test. if user wish delete the specifically
data, can first get in the data which want to delete, and then push down
the delete in the DisplayData interface.
4Returnback to the main interface.
1.19 PC communication
Use the USB cable connects the compute and the instrument. Push
down the PC-Com option in the main interface. This function can make PC
to control the instrument testing and receive the history data.

1.22 Operation
1.22.1 Communication
First, Use the USB cable connects the compute and the instrument.
Push down the PC-Com option in the main interface.
Second,user can check the state of communication by push theConnect button. if the PC connected the instrument, user can use all
function. If no, will give a tip as picture 31

1.22.2 Read the history data in the instrument
Push down Upload,PC will receive all data which saved in the
instrument. User can choose one group data to check by choosing in drop
down listResult of test at left interface. The oscilloscope will display
curve, then pushing down view data will see all detailed data of this
group data. User can save this group data by pushing save, the data will
be saved by .GK at hard disk.

1.22.3 PC control of the instrument to test
When PC connected the instrument, check the set of speed, trigger
and power, choose type of test, type of switch, type of senor and so on.
Click Start, please make sure all right, click OK. The instrument will
run the test and upload the result of test.
1.22.4 Save the data on PC
All the result of test and uploading history data can be save as 1.as
word,2.as excel,3 print the report.
1. Click the export, as picture 35, choose save as word. if
users PC installed the Microsoft office 2003,will save data
report as word.
2. Click the export, as picture 35, choose save as excel.
3. Click the print, will get into print preview, user can set page
header and footer at the Preferences windows. Click the print.

1.24 Fit sensor in oil Circuit Breakers
open the cover of the explosion chamber, insert the transmission pole into
the explosion chamber, and screw the inside end of the transmission pole
tightly to the screw of the moving contact, the other end of the pole connects to
the sample ruler.
The ruler should glide in the runner easily, and the base of the ruler must be fixed
to the explosion chamber.
Requirements: connect the contact to the A1 on the front-panel, the signal
lines plug of the sampler connects to the Sample Input interface, when fix the
sample pole ,the sample ruler should be kept clean and straight. when theres
pollute like oil or dust in the sample ruler, the ruler should be cleaned by gasoline
or alcohol., or the measured results may be discrete.
How to connect: all the moving contacts of the switches connects to the
ground hole in the front-panel of the tester, the ground hole then connects to the
earth ground reliably; the static contacts to the A,B,C hole correspondingly.(see
Picture 38)

spring, use the line to connect the probe and the External Trigger hole in the
front-panel, how to connect the remainder lines is just like the method for oil
