On a Baunigardm :- to Sullivan memorandum dated 6-20-61 - attached!, it was recommended and aw.-oved that Com,-ressman Doyle be contactedby a representative of my uitice, the 1: "er be 0i&#39;.&#39;:11}&#39; zuhnowledged and the Director&#39;sviews on the menace of communism an.� communist infiltration be explained to himand that he be furnished pertinent C&#39;lI�1&#39;l"ll reprints concerning communism.

On the m0:&#39;|.ing of 6-23-Ci, SA lI:.nning contacted Congressman Doyle.The Coneressiiian was very cordial :n;."i stated that he is a great admirer oi the &#39;Director and the Bureau. ire stated he is partic ilariy interested in communisminasmuch as he is a memb rr of the House Committee on Un-American Activities.lie said that while he is a great admirer of Mrs. Roosevelt, he did not agree with theabove statement. I-Ianning briefed the K nngressman along the lines mentioned int.he&#39;at&#39;tached memorandum and the Congressman was most appreciative. He said he hasalready read the Director-&#39;s book, "Mam.-rs of Deceit, " bit�. intends to study it further.

affidavits and were sentenced to 18 months and fined $2, 500 each. On 2/20/61 theSupreme Court denied a petition {or writ of certlorari and on 4/3/ 61 denied a petitionfor rehearing. West appeared at U. S. Marshal&#39;s Office, Cleveland, on 5/22/61 tobegin his sentence and is incarcerated �n Federal Prison, Terre Haute, Indiana. *
