CONCLUSION

• “Del toro is perhaps suggesting that fantasy is somehow proportionate to or compensaory for the horror of the real.”

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION

• 1) El laberinto del Fauno deals with a specific moment of Spanish history combined with fantasy elements which have consequences in the reality, to what extent these elements are confused?

• 2)Taking into consideration/ Keeping in mind that El laberinto del Fauno is a Spanish-Mexican co-production in which its actors, settings, themes and location are Spanish but its director and the key crew members are Mexican, can we consider that this film is a national or international production?

• 3) According to some critics as Janell Hobson or Laura Hubner this production provides quite positive feminist aspects, while others as Kim Edwards offer a more pessimistic view. After watching the film and reading the articles, what is your opinion about this? In which character’s behavior can we appreciate these points of view?
