Congratulations on successfully securing a place on the pre-registrationnursing programmes. This is the start of an exciting time for you andobtaining your degree will be the beginning of a life long career which ischallenging but extremely rewarding. Nursing is a privilege, but it is alsoour privilege to be able to welcome you into the Faculty of Health andSocial Care and be part of shaping your future. The Faculty is made up of178 staff who are here to help teach, guide and support you and ensurethat you have a positive student experience.
In terms of practice, EdgeHill has excellent relationshipswithNHShospitaland community Trusts and the practice placement experience of ourstudents has been voted best in the country for two years running in theNational Student Survey.
Your Fresher’s week and induction week have been designed to give youtime to settle intoUniversity life, introduce you to the programme, teachingstaff and personal tutor. It is also about getting to know each other andmaking new friends. The first few weeks will be daunting and you willreceive a lot of information; do not worry if not all of it sticks at first, youcan always get further advice from your personal tutor, module leader oryear lead.
Don’t hesitate to contact someone at any time by email, phone or inperson. Staff on reception are always willing to help if you are unsure orcannot find the person you need to speak to.
We wish you well over the next three years and hope that you will makethemost of all the opportunities there are for you.Work hard and achievethe outcomes you need to, but remember have fun as well.
