• Conducted for the Engineering Human Resources Association (EHRA)
• Provides total annual cash remuneration for a wide spectrum of engineering positions
• Helps association members develop effective compensation plans for their professional engineering employees
• Open for participation by EHRA member organizations only
• Results are available to participating EHRA members only
• Results are complimentary to participating EHRA members

Survey overview2013 Survey enhancements
• Added a new “Architects” family to the questionnaire (four levels, two specialties: industrial, landscape)
• Added two specialities to the 100 series (Engineers): Metallurgy, Piping
• Added four specialties to the 200 series (Engineering Technicians/Technologists): Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural
• Pre-populated questionnaires will be provided to 2012 participants
• Results will be available in WIN for the first time this year

Typical dutiesTypical duties• Develops solutions for a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Assists with coordination of
project design, develops creative-design concepts for projects and prepares presentation and design drawings. Follows established procedures. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Proficiency with drafting software and architectural presentation software may be required to perform assigned tasks.
Decision makingDecision making• Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, handling deviations from standard methods
and resolving difficulties. Difficult, complex or unusual problems or decisions are typically referred to more senior architects. Determines work procedures and makes recommendations for improvements. Able to lead small projects with minimal supervision, coordinate consultants and work directly with clients.
Supervision receivedSupervision received• Works under general supervision. Work is assigned in terms of specific objectives. Guidance is provided for review of
designs and unusual features. Completed work is normally accepted as technically accurate and is reviewed only for feasibility and soundness of judgment.
Supervision exercisedSupervision exercised• May provide technical guidance and supervision to designers/drafters and less experienced architects. May coach
other team members.
Entrance qualificationsEntrance qualifications• Approximately 5-7 years experience as a designer. Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or equivalent. Typically
licensed as a registered Architect.

The preformatted Excel spreadsheets are specific to each survey – the title is on the first page of the spreadsheet
Did you provide your contact information and your organization’s contact information?
This information will help if we need to contact you with questions about your data
Did you provide incumbent data? A line of data should be entered for each incumbent in a position that you matched to a survey position
Did you provide incumbent identifiers? If you are reporting multiple incumbents in a single position, the incumbent identifier tells us that they are not duplicate entries – please do not submit social insurance numbers
Did you explain any special circumstances in the "Feedback" tab?

• Data cleaning helps ensure all the participants are “on the same page”
Mercer checks each submission for
completeness and accuracy
Mercer performs stringent data
validation routines on each submission
Mercer prepares questions for each organization (Audit
Workbook) and sends them for review
You review our questions, update
your Audit Workbook, and return to us
within 5 days
Mercer may call you to discuss specific
questions if needed
Mercer conducts a thorough review and
analysis of the aggregated market
data
Mercer approves and finalizes the database
to be used for publication
