Ancient Egypt Video Project

Your video should include:

1. At least one section of textual information for each question that is asked. Please make sure that you leave the text up long enough that we can read the information

2. You should be using the lens of anthropology and archeology to help you create your video3. Make sure you include many artifacts, not just photos and diagrams.4. It should be at least 2 minutes long.

Egyptian Life

What is the everyday life of the people living in ancient Egypt? What are their jobs? What religious practices do they have? What did their homes look like? What did they do daily? What did they do for fun? What are some interesting facts about the way that they lived?

Geography

What makes Egypt so special geographically? What do they use the Nile for? What are their natural resources? How does this affect the rest of their lives? What do they create around the Nile? How does the geography affect their travel, trade and jobs? What are some interesting facts about their location/what they do with their resources?

Gods and Goddesses

Who were the 10 main Gods and Goddesses and what are they responsible for? What is their religion like? How do they honor the gods and goddesses? How does this affect the rest of their lives? How does the religion mix with government? What does the geography have to do with their religion? What are some interesting facts about the way that they worshipped?

Mummification

Why was the process of Mummification created? Who was it used for? Kings? Commoners? What was the process like? What occurred when someone went to the “Afterlife.”? What was the afterlife like? What are some interesting facts about mummification or their beliefs around it?

Pharaoh

What was the role of the pharaoh? Who were their advisors? Who were some of the greatest pharaohs? Were there any ever females in power? How did government and religion cross over? What were their lives like? Where did they live? What are some interesting stories or facts about a particular pharaoh?

Pyramids

What are the pyramids? What are some of the great pyramids? Where are they located? How do we believe they were built? Why were they built? Who built them? What are they made of? What did they look like when they were first made? What do they house? What are some interesting facts about the pyramids?

Temples

What were the temples? What are they made from? Where are they located? Who are they made for? What are some of the most famous temples? Who worked there? What does this tell us about their religion and their government? What are some interesting facts about the temples of Ancient Egypt?

Trades

How was the Nile a major influence on trade? What did they use to travel? With whom did they trade? What did they trade? What did they receive? What does this have to do with cultural diffusion with other civilizations? What were their skills that they shared with the world? What are some interesting facts about trade throughout Europe?

Writing

What were the forms of writing that they had? What did they record? How did they record information? How did they develop the idea of Papyrus? Why is this revolutionary? Where were hieroglyphs derived from? Who were the ones that would write? What are some great examples of their writing? What does this have to do with their religion? What tools did they use?
