• Urgent need for retailers to do online retail (eMarketplace or own eCommerce sites) to generate revenue but these are aplenty but fragmented. Huge budgets are also required to extend their marketing campaigns on these platforms due to immense competition to attract ‘eyeballs’, especially for new retailers.
• Lack of awareness of retailers' presence on crowded e-marketplaces.
• Consumers have no single portal to be informed or view the range of products and services on promotional offers by retailers on these marketplaces/own e-commerce sites, OR in-store, and where these deals can be enjoyed.
• With mandatory SMM, low shopper traffic is expected with less opportunities for sales conversion. BUT full rental and staff costs are payable. Retailers will need support for an industry level nation-wide campaign to sell stockpile of goods and generate new customer base.
