Question????
Is it possible to drop an egg into a glass of water without touching the egg?
Hypothesis:
We think that it is possible to drop an egg into a glass of water without teaching it because you can take something else other than your hand to push it in the glass of water.
Materials:Cardboard tube
Pie pan
Eggs
Water
A large drinking glass
Tray (optional)
Food coloring
Control/Variables:
(Control) The thing that stayed the same was the egg because the egg did not crack
(Independent Variable) The thing that changed was the length of the cardboard tube
(Dependent Variable) The thing that did not change was the drop of the egg into the glass of water
Data/Observation:
Tube Size
The water slash was really close to
the jar.The egg was close to the table so it wan't a
big splash.The splash was
higher from the table and the splash was
bigger.
8 inches
4 inches
Approximate Measurement of
Water splash
The water splash was not far from the
jar.4 inches
It was a small splash but not big enough to be a big splash.
The egg crack because we put the egg on a taller tube.
Observation
Analysis:
While we were video taping the egg did not
move just the pie pan and the
cardboard tube because we only moved the pie pan not the egg.
Conclusion:
We all thought the egg would not drop into the glass of water because the pie pan did not look sturdy enough to
drop the egg into the glass of water.
