Performing the Initial backup
• Backups can be started immediately over the network on the System Status page.

• Packages must be shipped by Fedex or UPS only (inquire for international shipping)

Very Important Notices
• If you already have ShadowProtect backup image files before changing the ImageManager retention policies, it will take 21 days before the chain of incrementals is complete in our data center. If you are worried about data loss during this period of time, manually use the Visualize button on the Folders page in the backup manager to include all of the -cw.spi files after the last month backup (-cm.spi files). This only has to be done once.
• If the BDR has already been in production for over a year, we highly recommend moving the existing backup images (or deleting them) and starting over fresh with a new base image. Long backup chains longer than 3 years can cause problems. This is a good opportunity to start over.

Monitoring Off-site Backups
• When eFolder off-site backups run, it will perform several integrity checks, including:
• Making sure that there is a recent ShadowProtect backup (for each .spf image that it finds in the backup set)
• Making sure that consolidation is occurring properly and there is a recent consolidated image
• Making sure that backup chains are complete • If any of the above checks fail, an error will be injected into the offsite
backup log, and any error notification rules you have setup will be followed.

Monitoring Off-site Backups
• The status of all of your backups can easily be monitored by using the “Dash Panel” web portal report.
• The My Partnership -> Notifications section of the web portal should be used to setup notification rules for warnings and errors (e.g., send an email, open a ConnectWise ticket, etc.).
• Tip: This feature is only available if you have completed your partner signup branding process.
• The online backup software by default will also try to send a notification email on a failed backup to the email address for the contact record associated with the eFolder account. You may need to configure SMTP server settings on the Notification tab of the Options page in the backup manager for this to work. We recommend instead that you use the “My Partnership -> Notifications” web portal feature instead.
