Avoid Images from the Internet

O Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and should not be used

O Flickr and PhotoBucket are two sites that are a good source of non-copyrighted images

O Clip art has tons of good pictures as well

Be careful with font choices

O Choose font color carefullyO Make sure it doesn’t blend into the

background O Make sure font is a proper size

O Too small of font can be difficult to read O Too large of font can distract the viewers

O Avoid using all capital lettersO ALL CAPS IS DISTRACTING TO THE

VIEWER AND IS ALSO MORE DIFFICULT TO READ

Tips When Using a Background

O Light colored backgrounds work well with dark font

O Dark colored backgrounds work best with white font

O If it’s a long presentation, it may work well to change backgrounds for the different topics

O Avoid backgrounds that distract

O Avoid a blank presentation

O Avoid changing backgrounds in the middle of the presentation

∂ Paraphrase to shorten paragraphs

∂ Using bullet points is also helpful

∂ Choose backgrounds and fonts carefully

∂ Include images but be sure to use non-copyrighted images

∂ Avoid using too many images

∂ Ask questions to keep your audience involved
