Effective casualty prosthetics is a little different than most. It looks at creating realistic injuries,

starting with a practical approach to how the injuries happen and the mechanism of the skin and the bodes response to trauma.

It is all too easy to run straight to the makeup kit and start slapping stuff on and hoping the blood will do all the work. However, unless the makeup is in the right place, the skin is doing the right thing and the blood is flowing, drying and collecting where it really would, it is all to easy to create something that looks fake.

This workshop starts from the causes of injury, looking at placement and environmental factors first. We will then move onto three different projects, all with a set brief to keep you on target and creating amazing realistic injuries.

Effective Casualty Prosthetics - 10, 11th & 12th June

The Effective Casualty Prosthetics Workshop is a three day hands-on practical class which covers designing, and creating amazing casualty appliances effectively. The scope of injury makeup is enormous, so we will break it down to common factors and principles you can use again and again.

Models, appliances and all kit and materials will be provided and are included in the fee!

Areas covered include:• Understanding injury.• Avoiding ‘bad’ casualty makeup.• Placement of injury.• Burns.• Gunshot trauma.• Lacerations.• Realistic bleeding.

The workshop will be run at the Guru Makeup Emporium, Fulham in London. (Click here to see a map and more details)

There will be a maximum group size of 6. This workshop will run from 10.30am to 5.00pm.
