Review: Topics of special interest 2016
• WT BREF review team: The first Draft Bref WT review is published in December 2015 and the deadline to comment was closed on March 18, 2016. EERA uploaded comments in Batis. The Final meeting for the review of the Waste Treatment BREF was held in Seville from 19-23/3/2017
• Fast Track Notifications: Results of the questionnaire for competent authorities, pre-consented facilities, June /July 2016, were shared by a presentation of Chris Slijkhuis, Muller- Güttenbrunn
• Special focus on Plastics replaced the ‘Plastics working group’, & several position papers.

Review: EERA strategy
• Higher volumes: because at present only 35% of POM is collected
• Good quality treatment
• Fair competition: means in compliance with standards & standards shall be commanded by EC
• Reasonable margins: art 12.1 WEEE Directive - Producers should provide sufficient money to finance compliant treatment

Review: UNU study
The objective of the study is to analyse the cost factors related to:
• Compliant treatment quality, frequently evaded by non-reported and scavenging practices,
• Non-quality related competition distorting elements, and provide best and worst practices.
3 European Member States i.e. Sweden, Germany and Spain
The time line for this study is February -November 2017

The brochure was in the first place developed for the EC expert meeting in February 2017. The brochure is adopted and partly financed by Cenelec and
broadly disseminated.

The published Cenelec standards cover the scope of theWEEELABEX standard.
Endprocessing standards is finalized, limitedinvolvement in WG 7.

Continuation of lobby on to promote compliant treatment implemented in national legislation or ordonnances.
By transposition of WEEE 2 certification for WEEE treatment is required in Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Slovenia and for contracts with take back schemes in Italy. In Germany involvement in Arbeitsgruppen, active approaches in Scandinavia formaking standards mandatory

Income
It is assumed that there will be 31 EERA members, who will generate an income of € 221.250,-.
Expenditures
The projected expenditures for 2017 is € 265.446,-, which will result in a ‘loss’ of € 44.196,-
€ 45.000,- will be spend on the UNU-VIE sCYCLE study. The projected result will be charged to the financial reserves.

Board member elections some guidelines

• For the elections of 2017: 6 positions are vacant
• The board will exist of 7 board members, 1 position is taken by Marius Costache,
Green WEEE (for another year)
• All full EERA members have voting rights. For each company: 1 voting form, by
choosing 6 candidates of your choice
• The election forms are anonymous
• A quorum of 50% of all full members is needed (whether present of represented by
proxy) to validate the elections (art 14 articles of association)
• There is a max. of two board members from one country (articles of association
art.16)
