OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS
Overall objective: Reduction of socio economic degradation in
Western Province – Mongu District
Specific Objective: Increment in bio-diversity and tree cutting
reduction

Project title: Briquette production and inclusive green economy in Mongu: a
bridge for a sustainable business
Overall objective: contribute to the reduction of poverty while mitigating climate
change through inclusive green-job creating economy and improved green
energy access and security in Western Province
Specific objective: lead a private company based in Western Province of Zambia
to ensure the commercial maturity of briquettes production and distribution
DURATION AND MAIN ACTIVITIES
Project duration: JUNE 2015 – JUNE 2017
Increase of briquette production up to 88,000 Kg/month with sawdust and
chipped tree branches
Provide new job opportunities to people employed in the production chain
from the villagers near the forest up to people employed in the company and on
the sale
