Solution starts with understanding
The solution to your utility structure needs begins with a clear understanding o your mechanicalrequirements, your site constraints and your installation timetable.
Knowledgeable sales engineers and design engineers, amiliar with utility design standards, work with youto ensure that the project’s unique requirements are identied and satised. Our proessional engineers arecertied in 47 states.
With extensive in-house computer acilities, we use industry-accepted structural analysis sotware and CAD
systems or abrication layouts, bills o material and nal drawings. Our experienced drating and design
Community service
The tapered tubular design o major steel pole members results ingraceul aesthetics or the overall structure without sacricing strength.Galvanized steel structures are maintenance-ree, won’t shrink and requireretightening and don’t succumb to insects, birds, re or rot. There are notoxic treatment programs required ater installation.
When installed in a location where public acceptance is critical, taperedtubular structures are ar more aesthetically pleasing than lattice or woodconstruction. Whether you are designing a low-prole structure near aresidential development or integrating a transmission line in an urbansetting, EEI tubular structures are the perect solution.
EEI tapered tubular structures are adaptable to any environment, easy toinstall at the location and deliver years o superb service, easy maintenanceand low lie-cycle costs.
personnel utilize automated drating routines toproduce complete manuals and erection drawingsor quick turnaround and easy, accurate installation.
We will tailor your structure to deliver yearso superb service, regardless o unique siterestrictions, severe wind or ice loadings orproblems with extreme terrain or soil conditions.Even “standard” structures and poles must beproperly designed, abricated rom the rightmaterials and properly installed. Where multiplestructures are required on the same project, we
coordinate their design to assure that all structuresare compatible and completed on time to meetyour erection schedule.
Proessional engineering and management thatunderstands the importance o quality and on-timedelivery are your guarantee that your structure willbe in place on time and up to any task.

New identity, established reputation
Engineered Endeavors (EEI)is a pioneer in the design and application o tapered tubular steel structures. With a 20-year national reputation in the wireless communications industry, EEI supplies supportstructures that meet customers’ rigid specications or any site location. Armed with this experience,EEI has established the EEI Utility Structures Division to oer ast turnaround on high-quality,
custom-designed substation and transmission structures.
Speed, quality, responsiveness
EEI Utility Structures blend proessional engineering, custom analysis sotware, precision manuacturingand a quality-conscious supply chain.
The prolieration o electrical and electronic devices, population growth, and urban sprawl
have all led to an ever-growing need to upgrade, expand and extend the aging power grid.
This means more utility structures to support the grid.
Although smaller in size,
the projects are important
nevertheless, and without them
the grid cannot grow.
Some producers o utility structures seek out only large
transmission projects and turn away rom smallerorders or substation structures and
transmission structures.

Material difference
EEI tapered tubular structures are made rom premium ASTM A572 Grade 65 materialswhich meet or exceed all industry standards. Steel poles have ewer and lighter pieces, simplied connections, aster erection, lower erection costs and improved appearancecompared to other steel construction. They provide predictable torsional andtranslational stiness or larger dead-end take-o angles and higher tensions.
Constant taper, uniorm diameters and uniorm strength deliver more predictableresults than wood. Steel poles weigh 50-70% less and can be abricated toaccommodate custom raming or use o existing hardware or aster installation. They ship in sections i necessary and are easier to store and transport than othermaterials (concrete, lattice and wood). Lead times are short and predictable.

EEI Utility Structures
EEI provides steel structures with tapered tubular sections made o high-strength steel. Thesestructures are lighter, stronger, more economical and not as bulky as conventional steel construction. Tapered sections are stronger at the bottom, lighter at the top and equally strong in all directionsto resist varying wind loads, compared to wide-fange lattice construction. They oer a high degreeo rigidity or structures that support sensitive switches, arresters or lters. In a substation, a singletapered column can support a switch stand or bus support, where a similar design in lattice or widefange would require two or even our oundations.
EEI can provide the ull spectrum o tapered tubular structures or both transmission and substationapplications. Versatile A-rames dead ends provide high loading carrying capacity while limitingdefection. H-rame dead ends (where tension loading allows them) are practical, economical and
easy to assemble. On transmission lines, single pole, H-rames and wood equivalent steel poles can bedesigned and supplied where best suited.
