This course defines the requirements for work practices that workers should use to avoid injury from a release of electrical energy when performing tasks involving electri-cal power. The specific lnformat1on In this course enables the tech-nicians and engineers to prevent or minimize exposure to all widely recognized electrical hazards as well as to bet-ter understand the Importance of the standards for elec-tric safety In the workplace and the national electric code.Any engineer or technician dealing with power supply net-works needs to understand thegeneral laws of electricity, basic principles of earthing, In-sulation coordination and its roleIn ensuring safety of equipment and personnel. A correct understanding of the basic principles Involved will help him to avoid mistakes that could lead to expensive fail-ures and long blackout.
