CONSTRASTS IN GRANADA
agricultural landscape
These pictures are shown in order to highlight the different kind of cities there are in Granada. It is important to know that Granada have been ocupied by Jewish, Arabian and finally Catholic. So this could have an impact in the kind of construction technics or materials.
In addition to this, every picture has a meaning and it is here because in my nearly project I would take them into account.
Housing will probably have sloping and flat roofs, I would use bricks for the façade or I would consider designing an urban orchard.

SPlot is relatively close to main mean of transport stations such as train station or bus station.
SIt has public parking in the surrounding area, main roads (Av/ Ronda) and closer bus stops.
WThere is a park for children in the other side (C/Sócrates-C/Trajano) but is not enough equiped and it is not protected from traffic. We would offer a new space more protected and more atractive for children and with a green space.
WThe pedestrian street C/San Marcelino Champagnat nowadays seems to be transi-ted by few people. In this case we would think about the threatment of the future street.
SEducatorium, that would be a housing project for teachers and their children is very good placed because is linked to the campus of University of Grana-da, National Library, Faculty of Translation and Interpretation an Faculty of Law. Besides this, there are schools in the same neighbourhood.
SAs we can see in the pictures and on the map there are many public spaces, monuments and museums in a few minutes by foot.
OThere are pre-existing trees and bushs. We would consider to keep or surround the highest ones in the public space.
OIs interesting to use the plot to generate a public and green space in order to connect with other green spaces that are really close.
TNoise and traffic is really closer to our plot. In C/Sócrates the-re is a two-lane road, so we would probably come up with a L shape housing protecting from this street.
TThe plot is enough isolated to pre-existing buildings in the South side, a few from C/Obispo Hurtado and C/Só-crates and there are about 5 m in the pedestrian street to the next building. In this case, we would consider to design to take advantage of radiation but reducing shadows on the pedestrian street.
TThe same happens with wind, that it originates in the East direction during the whole year, so this L shape would be appropriate.
