Status of IASE at UGC

The approval granted by DEC to the courses run under distance mode by IASE deemed university was not per the MOU signed between UGC-AICTE-DEC & as per the Govt. of India Directions

A meeting conducted by the Govt. of India &

MHRD on 19th Feb.2008, chaired by the Secretary , Dept. of Higher Education

The relevant clause of the MOU is reproduced as under:-

“Based on the recommendations of joint committee, the letter of approval may be issued by the joint committee. The letter should explicitly state: This has the approval of UGC,AICTE and DEC. The letter should be jointly signed by Secretary, UGC, Member Secretary, AICTE, and Director DEC”

The Deemed to be universities can start new departments within the University campus or start off-campus centers with prior specific permission of the UGC and that too of the State Government where the centre is proposed to be opened

Private Franchising of Higher Education is not permissible

As of today, UGC has not approved the study centers of any Deemed to be Universities including the above three Deemed to be universities

Institute of Advanced Studies in Education of Gandhi Vidya Mandir, (IASE), Sardarshahr, Rajasthan

The UGC has not granted any approval to IASE Deemed University, Rajasthan, & Janardhan Rai Deemed University, Rajasthan to conduct technical Courses M.Tech/B.Tech,/ Diploma through Distance Mode

The UGC has not approved any study centers of these Deemed universities in Andhra Pradesh

No course of IASE is approved by joint committee of AICTE, UGC, & DEC

A progaramme /course of technical education through distance mode without prior approval from the said joint committee is recognized and such universities including deemed universities and technical institutions are liable for appropriate action for conducting such unapproved programmes.

In case of technical / professional programmes offered by the universities is concerned, wherever required , approval from the concerned apex bodies in the country is required to obtained for which the responsibility vests with the university concerned.

The Institutions / university to follow the norms prescribed by the concerned apex body or seek its reorganization for a particular programme as per the requirements.

Any professional programme which requires the mandatory approval from the statutory authorities like AICTE, UGC,NCTE, etc.,
