Education & Career Guidance (ECG)
• Students need guidance and support as they transit from educationinstitutions into the new world of work so as to be future ready.
• They should be given opportunities to:o Explore and develop their interests and strengthso Engage in deep learningoApply their learning in real-world contexts to make a difference
in their areas of passion
better understand themselves
explore viable education and career options
make informed decisions
develop plans and goals to achieve their aspirations
ECG is a developmental process that facilitates acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes to enable students to answer 3 key questions….

Aims of ECG
Nurture student’s self-awareness, self-directedness
and life skills for continual learning and training;
(Skills)
Enable students to explore viable education and career options through
the provision of accurate and comprehensive information;
(Knowledge)
Inculcate an appreciation for the value
of all occupations and how they contribute to the well-
functioning of society; (Mindset)
Equip students with skills and means to positively
engage their parents and other career influencers
(Engaging the community)
