EDUCATION ABROAD Newark Campus Courses QUEBEC, CANADA is 10-day trip explores the province of Quebec. Students explore Montreal, the country’s cultural capital; the European-style walled city of Quebec City; the stunning Montmorency Falls Park; and the country’s capital, Ottawa (in Ontario). Before traveling, students attend classes on campus to learn about the province’s culture and history. HAVANA, CUBA Students will spend ten days exploring Cuba. is interdisciplinary course analyzes the role of race and culture in the formation of contemporary Cuban politics and national identity. Students will explore constructions of Blackness and racial identity outside of the American context, and as a result develop a broader understanding of race, culture, heritage, and resistance in the African Diaspora. BERLIN, GERMANY Over spring break, students will travel to Berlin. is trip typically includes walking tours of the city, including Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie, visits to Museum Island and to the prison of the East German secret police (the Reichstag), and much more.
