Joe Davies is the Master at Haileybury, the independent co-educational boarding school in Hertfordshire. The school has just celebrated its 150th year and achieved a great year of results, some of them the best in the schools history. We talk about instilling aspiration into students.

Buying equipment.. how to avoid the pitfalls. ESPO, one of the UK’s largest public sector professional buying organisations, write the second in the series about how to avoid the pitfalls of sourcing equipment and services when Local Authority support isn’t there as a safety net.

Building schools is an expensive business, a report released by English Heritage earlier this year makes the case for working with historic buildings rather than demolishing these in order to capitalise on their “embodied energy”. This challenges the myth that new build schools are necessarily more energy efficient. In the current strive for schools to be more environmentally aware, this argument too favours the idea of making the most of the assets that are already in place. - an article by Jonathan Tuckey Design is all about reusing buildings.

Eco friendly and £ friendly ways of doing things, they can be exactly the same! We run an article about equipment and techniques that don’t cost the earth, however its looked at.

Employment law, HR, Health & Safety and payroll issues are being covered by The Employment Law Advisory Service.
