We a lso promote painting,iconography based arts and similar finer aspects of our culture so that these treasures are preserved and passed on to the next generation.

We always demonstrate how to serve by serving others during natural calamities as we believe in giving back to the society which has been immensely backing our social causes.

Our trust has been in the forefront in supporting the needy during natural calamities and disasters - Chennai Floods 2015, Vardah Cyclone 2016, Kerala floods 2018 and Gaja Cyclone 2018 to name a few.

Sri Poornamahameru Trust has been involved in supporting destitute elders, Leprosy affected and the underprivileged society for more than 25 years. Based out of Chennai, it is also involved in free food distribution programs (Annadanam) all over Tamilnadu. This trust was started upon the instructions of the sage of Kanchi - Maha Periyava - in 1987 who also suggested the name for the organization. The trust was formally registered in 1993 as a public charitable trust open to all irrespective of any religion, caste or creed.

Origin

Our medical centre inside the premises caters to the needs of elders and the nearby people of Pallavaram for their basic medical needs. It also assists in conducting medical camps in association with various medical organizations.

Free food is provided to anyone who walks in hungry to our premises. We also conduct food distribution in slums, remote villages, hospitals during normal days and during natural calamities. We also conduct mass feeding on special occasions like Diwali, Chitra Pournami, Navaratri etc.

Free food, accommodation and suitable medical care are provided to elders till their end. This home can accommodate up to 60 people.

Our Projects

Volunteers from the trust regularly visit and provide free food at some of the leprosy centres in and around Chennai. We also donate dresses, utensils or needy items to the residents.

Educational scholarships are provided to the needy children, primarily to children of leprosy affected or such serious ailments. It is also extended to children of our support staff.
