PHILLIP M. WISHON

Phillip M. Wishon is professor of elementary and earl;. childhood education in the College of Education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. A former elementary school teacher, he hcs also taught in and directed preschool programs in Ohio and Tennessee.

Wishon's major areas of professional interest include special needs young children, play intervention, therapeutic use of pets with chil- dren, and child health and safety. He has published widely and served as consultant in these areas.

Wishon is past presided of the National Association of Early Child- hood Teacher Educators and serves as research editor of Dimensions, the journal of the Southern Association on Children Under Six. He is co-author of fastback 249 Missing and Abducted Children: The School's Role in Prevention.
