Day-to-day operations summary: Planned / Unplanned Outages of EDS

• Planned Outages– 3/1 (8am – 5pm) – Completed as scheduled

• Unplanned Outages– 2/20 – 2/27 – Wind Generation Potential Forecast / Performance

reports unavailable. Issue resolved with replaced certificate between ERCOT and vendor.

– 3/2/09 8:30 AM – 9:15 AM – LMP Reports unavailable. Server restart resolved the issue.

– 3/3 – Present – Sandbox “broadcast” notifications throwing errors preventing delivery to MP’s. We are investigating the issue with development. Presently, we have disabled email alerts (to MP’s) for failed notifications.

• Next testing will take place 3/10 – 3/12• Next month’s dates will be added on our next EDS call (note there is no

change to the planned schedule)• Reminder: remaining FIT windows will only review telemetry and state

estimator convergence. SCED inputs will be removed from FIT until further notice.

Key Numbers 82.39% Test Average Convergence 9 of the 27 Test Hours had 100% Convergence

Notes State Estimator (SE) updates to certain

applications caused unexpected periods of SE downtime and affected convergence results

AREVA has since corrected the code, which should be in EDS for the next database load

The problem may still be a problem in next week’s FIT testing (sporadic)
