  • FROM THE

    FIRE COORDINATOR’S OFFICE

We experienced a few days of 90-degree weather with high humidity last month. The prolonged

heat and humidity will become more common as we move into June, July and August.

For our active firefighters, I encourage you to be mindful of your own physical condition during

major emergencies. During hot spells you should stay hydrated and if you are asked to go to Rehab,

Do Not complain, curse, refuse to go or worse, give our EMS partners a hard time. Rehab during

the dog days of summer can be a life saving process. EMS has diagnosed very serious health

problems at past incidents and I am sure saved many of our firefighters from experiencing a major

    medical event.

So, go thru Rehab, get monitored, re-hydrated and get back into the action, feeling better – and

maybe thank the team that checked you out, to ensure you were fit to continue that day and in the

    future!
