(Saturday & Sunday) at Rajah Muthiah Mandram –A/c Hall and SITCON Exhibition was heldon 9, 10 & 11.8.2013 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) at Maditssia A/c Hall, Near MaduraiCorporation, Madurai with the active participation of industrialists, businessmen, traders,investors and community people. Nearly 1,000 people had participated in these functions tomake the conference and exhibition a grand success.

Sri E.R. Kumaresan, President, Sri C.K. Sekar, Immediate Past President, Sri K.V. Bala,Senior President, Sri K.K.G. Prabhakaran, Vice-President & SITCON ConferenceChairman, Sri S.K.R. Ramesh, SCC & SITCON General Secretary, Sri M.K. Kaladhar Babu,Treasurer and Sri T.R. Mohanram, Joint Secretary & Convenor SITCON – the office bearershave executed their duties in a very remarkable manner in a systematic way with the supportand dedicated participation of their respective team members all these 3 days both in theExhibition and Conference venues.

More than 100 Stalls were occupied by the community businessmen, traders andindustrialists in Maditssia A/c Hall and its 1st floor and they were seen very busy in dealingwith the general public on their products and services. Our Committee MemberSri N.S.R. Santharam had opened a Stall for his educational services under LKT EDU-JOBCONSULTANTS and for Diamond Jwellary business. He was seen busy with his two sons inthe stall. KUSO Patron Dr. B.A. Viswanath's Stall for Aditya Institutions (SSR College etc.)was available in the first floor where Sri T.S. Sri T.K. Subramanian's Sri Siva Balaji SteelsPrivate Limited Stall was seen at the entrance ofthe Exhibition Venue for which 'Best Stall' Awardwas offered by BVK Foundations headed bySri K.V. Bala. Various Seminars were also heldfor 2 days in Maditssia Seminar Hall.On Saturday, 10.08.2013 at 6.00 pm, Hon'bleSri Sellur K. Raju, Hon. Co-operation Minister,Govt. of Tamilnadu, had graced the Conferenceas Guest of Honor. In his speech, the Hon'bleMinister praised the active participation of theSourashtra people in the freedom movement as

well as in the civic administration of Madurai Municipal Corporation. A Memorandum ofDemands of the business community to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu SelviJ. Jayalalitha was handed over toSri Sellur K. Raju, Hon. Co-operationMinister whom assured to the officebearers and the general public in themeeting hall to take the Memorandumto the knowledge of the Hon'ble ChiefM i n i s t e r a n d f o r d u e a c t i o n .Sr i A.G.S. Rambabu, Ex. M.P. ,Sri J.C. Suresh, Advisor, BusanaApparel Group, Indonessia andSri K.R. Shyamsundar, IPS., DGP, (Investigation) NHRC (South India), Chennaiwere felicitated.

Bharatha Natyam programme of Selvi Usha Nandalal was held from 4.30 pm.On Sunday, 11.08.2013, light music programs by Sri G.R. Mahadevan was held from 9 amto 10 am. Later, Sri T.S. Raghavan, former President, Indian Bank and Sri S. Gurumoorthy,Eminent Thinker and Corporate Consultant gave their lectures on ethics on trades anddevelopments.

The 25th Year Prize Distribution FunctionThe 25th Year Prize Distribution Function was held on 15.8.2013 at Sourashtra Kalyana

Mahal, Salem. Prizes were awarded to the rank holders in X and XII Public Examinationssecuring first 3 ranks holders among Sourashtras. Separate prizes were awarded to bothboys and girls equally. Rs. 5000, 4000, and 3000 were the prize amount respectively. Alsoscholarship at Rs. 1000 was awarded to 21 students to assist in their education. Aconsolation cash award at Rs.1000 was given to 65 students. The total amount of award wasRs. 1, 35, 000/-. The notable point here is that this amount of Rs. 1, 35, 000 was not receivedin the form of donation but only as a voluntary contribution by the well wishers in thecommunity. The function was presided over by Sri Laguduva. V. Jayaprakash-President,Salem Corporation ‘Ammapet zone’.

The prizes were distributed by Ln. V. G. Ramdoss, President, Sourashtra MunnetrakKazhagam (SMK). Dr. K.K. Rajagopal, M.B.B.S. D.C.H, Managing Director, Kamal Hospital,Salem, Sri V.N. Swamy, Secretary, SMK., Madurai Sarathy Textiles T.K.D. Krishnan,Treasurer, SMK andA. Kuppuswamy, thasildar, (Rtd) blessed the students.

From the year 2013 onwards a special award has been instituted in the name of(Late) Boosi. R. Srinivasan for those who stand first in the languages of Tamil andSourashtram (in its suvya lipi). The award consists of a merit certificate, a trophy and cashaward.

Kum. Krithika Sonali Kandhalu has been honoured with 'Diploma in Bharatanatyam' onthe occasion of her arangetram by KrishnanjaliAcademy (Regd.), Chennai.

Krithika Sonali started learning Bharatanatyam at the tender age of six, under theguidance of Sri V. Balagurunathan and Smt. Gayatri. She has displayed regularity,consistency and has come a long way in the process. She has been a part of variousKrishnanjali productions like Ayigiri Nandhini, Krishnam Smaraami and Malargalin Sirippil.She has also performed along with Krishnanjali team at Swami Pathriji Ashram's Annual DayCelebrations, Secunderabad. She has performed at Sri Natana Gopala Nayaki Swami'sJayanthi Vizha, Coimbatore and won appreciation from audience. She has won prizes inannual dance competitions held in school.

She was a XI standard student of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar. She,being a creative person, writing scripts and poems, making jewels,crafts and models come in hand to her very naturally. She is very keenin Indian culture, Heritage and Spirituality. Inspired by Sathguru'sspeeches, she has attended inner engineering and pursues yogaregularly. Krithika Sonali is the grand daughter of Sri V.G. Rajaram,P r e s i d e n t , S o u r a s h t r a S a n g a m , C o i m b a t o r e a n dSmt. Vasantha Rajaram. Sri V.G. Gopalakrishnan, elder brother ofSri V.G. Rajaram and President, KUSO, Bangalore attended theabove Arangetram along with Sri V.G. Ravi, Committee Member andblessed his grand daughter Krithika Saonali by offering a shawl.Bharatanatyam dance performance by Krithika Sonali covered thefollowing items, viz., Ganeshanjali, Koovi Azhaithaal, Varnam,Keerthanam 'Janani Janani ' , Padam, 'Theruvi l varano',Sri Gurupadhuka Sthothram and finally Thillana and pakkavaadyams.
