Overview Performance

At the heart of the Edition S is a 50mm dynamic driver designed for

full range frequency response with exceptional detail and imaging.

With a sensitivity rating of 113dB and impedance of 18 ohms, the

HIFIMAN on-ear headphone can be driven by most portable audio

devices such as smartphones and iPods. Completing the connection,

Edition S is fitted with a high performance Oxygen Free Copper

cable that is 1.3 m long and terminated in a 3.5mm mini jack.

Headphone experts have long recognized the sonic benefits of

an open back design while closed back headphones are often a

necessity when traveling or listening in close quarters such as an

airplane. HIFIMAN gives you the best of both worlds with an

on-ear headphone that can go from one mode to simply by

adding (or removing) the logo cap on the ear cup. Engineers

have cleverly optimized the performance in each mode to make

this not only possible but also quick and easy.

Weighing in at only 8.74oz (248g), Edition S can be worn comfort-

ably for hours on end thanks to its light weight and padded

headband. The ear cups and pads generally follow the shape of

the human ear o�ering further comfort to the listener. A 6.35mm

( ”) phone jack adapter is supplied allowing the owner to plug

Edition S into portable or HiFi equipment.

The Edition S can be folded and stored in the travel case, which

provides a safe environment when the headphones are carried out.

If the ear cups do not comfortably rest on your ears, you can move the sliding black block on each side of the headband to adjust the length to suit the shape of your head.

Should you need to remove and reinstall the earpad (i.e. for replace-ment) , fit the mounting flange onto the rim of the ear cup. Press around the mounting flange to make sure the earpad snaps into place.

Except for the cable and earpads, there are no other user-ser-

viceable parts on Edition S. Tampering with or disassembling

your headphone may void the warranty. When your earpads

become su�ciently worn they can be replaced with a new pair

available from your local dealer or HIFIMAN directly.

To clean the headphones, simply use a slightly damp soft cloth

(i.e. microfiber) and avoid any harsh detergents. Keep in a dry

location and do not allow any liquids to enter the headphones.

HIFIMAN uses high quality cables however should it ever become necessary to replace them they are user-replaceable. The cable has channel orientation indicators for left and right clearly marked by an L and R inside the headband.

The cable comes fitted with a 3.5mm stereo mini plug for use with most smartphones and portable players. Should you wish to use Edition S on a hi-fi system, you can use a headphone adapter to a ” (6.35mm) stereo plug.

How to Use the In-line Control Cable

With the in-line control cable, you can adjust volume, pause/play your

music, without reaching your device. This cable is equipped with a

microphone.

Your HIFIMAN headphone is warranted for a period of twelve (12)

months beginning with the original date of purchase. Your dated

sales or delivery receipt, is your proof of purchase. You may be

required to provide proof of purchase as a condition of receiving

warranty service so please keep it handy.

If your product is under warranty and some malfunctions appear,

please contact HIFIMAN customer service or your authorized dealer.

If necessary, and at our discretion, we will provide a warrantyrepair

or replacement of your product.

Caution: do not disassemble or modify the headphone in any way.

Except for the cable and ear pads, there are no user-serviceable

parts. Tampering with or modifying your HIFIMAN headphone will

void its warranty.

Warranty

1. Defective or discolored parts if the damages are caused by fluids, dirt,

missing keys, broken plastic parts or improper use.

2. Damage caused by misuse with another product.

3. Use of the product for other than its normal intended use, including,

without limitation, failure to use the product in accordance with the

supplied “Owner’s Guide”

4. Damage caused by accident, abuse, neglect or misuse.

5. If you do not have a valid dated receipt showing proof of purchase.

6. Damage caused by services/repairs or other modifications to the

system carried out by anyone other than HIFIMAN or an authorized

HIFIMAN distributor or dealer.

7. Damage caused by self-repair or if the unit has been disassembled or

modified in any way.

The warranty applies to the first purchaser and is not transferable.
