AudioAudio

The audio has several different tracks, this is so we can mount sound in different tracks. Audio 2 acts as the sound for the soundtrack and Audio 3 is the sound of each clip. Other clips were either muted or deleted. We did this by when inserting a clip into the timeline, we had to unlink the sound of each clip so we could just hear the soundtrack.

As you can see, we had to cut the soundtrack for our music video so it made it easier to sync the video with the lyrics.

Black and WhiteBlack and White

Based on our research, we made many clips monochrome as indie bands tend to do this in their music videos. When editing we saved a black and white pre-set to apply to each clip we intended to be that colour.

Monochrome to colourMonochrome to colour

To apply this effect, we had to adjust the key frames to fade black and white into the colour. As you can see, the first key frame is black and white and then the second key frame is colour, we placed them apart so it gradually fades.

SpeedSpeedFor particular clips we had to either slow them down or speed them up. To do this we adjusted the percentage.

Double exposureDouble exposure• To create the double exposure, we used two different clips

on top of each other. We then changed the opacity of one of the clips to 50%, so we were able to see both videos at the same time.

TintingTinting

Using the tint effect, we were able to select different colours. We then adjusted each tint slightly by adjusting the contrast and brightness.

Split screenSplit screen

After we applied each tint the clips. We then were able to split the screen into four. For each individual clip we resized each one to 25% so they all fit into screen. To pause each frame, we used the tool ‘freeze frame’ so the video was able to remain froze, while other clips were shown at the same time.

Sliding TransitionSliding Transition

To apply this transition, we had to add key frames and adjust the scale and position of the video, to make the video move from the corner to the centre.

Shapes & ColourShapes & Colour• We decided as a group, that continuous colour throughout our music

video would look better, so instead of using full blocks of colour as you have seen previously. We decided to add shapes and changed the opacity, then applied colours to each shape. To add shapes, we used the circle tool. We then resized the circle and positioned it into the centre of the frame. Then copied and pasted the shape 4 times, so it didn’t move.

To change the opacity of the shape, we altered the percentage to 40% so we were able to see the video and the shape. To adjust the colour of the shape, we selected the colours from the wheel.
