First, I opened a blank A4 page, and added a blue rectangular box at the bottom as a sort of “border”.

Next, I added my main title in a downloaded font (dafont.com) and underlined it.

I then added a drop shadow to my main header to make it bold and stand out.

I then added a small star shape as a sort of “logo”, and put a drop shadow effect on it to make it stand out and match the header.

I then opened my chosen image, and used the quick selection tool to select the two main subjects.

I then pasted my selected image and resized and adjusted the contrast and saturation until it suited my magazine style.

I next used the text tool to add a main coverline on top of the main cover image. I used a downloaded font, and used two different colour to fit in with the magazine colour scheme, and make the “Exclusive Interview” stand out.

Then, I used the shape tool to add a star shape similar to the one used in the header, added a drop shadow, and put the text “1st Edition” on it.

Next, a barcode was added on the bottom right of the cover.

Finally, the bottom “header” was filled in with a “Plus:” section, and the front cover was finished.

Fist, a made a layout of my contents page using a straight blue line and a blue rectangle shape.

Next, I added the “Contents” title, and added the drop shadow effect.

I then used Quark to produce the text for my contents page, I used 3 columns, and used the guides to help layout the text.

I then inserted my contents text from Quark, on to my Photoshop layout.

I next used the Quick Selection tool to make the selection on the images I had chosen to be on my contents page.

I then added the images, and separated them diagonally, as it is more interesting to look at. I also altered the contrast and saturation until the images looked suitable.

I then added the text to correspond with the images, making sure the text colour and font was suitable and fitted in with the magazine style. I also added white lines onto the content text to make a more appealing layout; finishing the contents page.

I first selected my background image, and opened it on a A3 document.

Next, I used Quick Select to select the image I wanted, I then altered the saturation and contrast, and added some effects until it looked interesting, I then imported it on to my background.

I then added the boxes that I would soon use for my text, and added a drop shadow effect. I arranged the boxes so they all work well together, and didn’t obstruct too much of the main image.

Next, the article title, introductory paragraph and quote were added, and altered till they were slightly rotated and had a drop shadow.

I then used Quark to write my double page spread article, making sure the text fit correctly into 2 neat columns. I also changed the colours of the text, making it easier to read but also keeping with the magazine colour scheme.

I then imported the Quark article onto the Photoshop layout, and rotated it so it fitted in with the box, completing the double page spread.
