The first shot of the scene is a wide angle shot of the family car going to the road. It also is used to transition from the previous location and to show where this next scene is going to be set.The next scene is an over the shoulder shot of Sarah with the focus being Jessica laughing in the scene. Along with a shot from Jessica’s point of view focusing on Sarah laughing.It then transitions to a close up of Paul, this is to focus on the emotions and facial expressions of the character, this is to help the audience recognize that he is thinking about something and is worrying him, it also shows that he is separating himself from his family by ignoring what is happening .

In this shot you have all three characters as the focus, with Paul upset about something he is thinking about and both Jessica and Sarah being happy.Both Sarah and Paul then turn to each other, this is to show that Sarah has realized that Paul is upset about something and that she’s worried about him.It then goes back to the point of view of Jessica and it shows that there is conflict between both Paul and Sarah, but at the same time they are distracted and are not watching the road as they are about to collide with the oncoming vehicle.

To add to the collision the scene becomes more fast paced, this is done by adding more transitions with shorter clips along with faster motion in each shot.CGI is also used in the scene to help create the effects for example the metals poles flying through the windscreen are actually edit in the clip to give the idea that they are movie at a high speed. The Clip is also really short to make it less obvious that CGI was used in the scene.It is also done quite well as although the the scene of the impact lasts only 2 seconds it is easy to understand what is happening.

Conclusion

In the Clip there are various short camera shots and fast transitions used to effectively give the idea of fast paced movement in such a small time frame, while also still making it easy for the audience to understand what has happened. This also made the CGI used in the scene more convincing for example the movement of the poles along with the blood used in the scene. It also shows the aftermath of the crash outside of the vehicles to give the audience a better understanding of what has happened.
