The Edison campus will provide the students of Miami Edison Senior High and feeder schools with a world-class, world-themed, world-focused education, creating graduates who are inventors of their own

destinies, preparing them for success in the global society and marketplace in the Third Millennium.

This vision will be realized through the pursuit of four goals:

International: Infusing a global focus into all aspects of Edison education, with particular intensity in the high school’s International Studies and Finance Academy.

Intellect: Implementing an array of rigorous, high-level academic programs through the high school’s College Board Academy.

Ingenuity: Instilling pride and skill in realizing one’s entrepreneurial potential and in serving others, through the high school’s Health and Public Affairs Academy.

Imagination: Inspiring the joy and instilling the discipline of artistic expression to stimulate self-under-standing and self-expression, critical thinking, high-level learning and problem-solving, through the high

school’s Performing and Visual Arts Academy.

Make the world spinInternational Studies and Finance Academy

Through intensive instruction in the humanities plus a world language of your choice, you will gain deep knowledge about other countries and cultures and become fluent in at least one language beyond English. If you are looking for a career in banking,

mortgage lending, investing, accounting and other fields in the international financial services industry, this is the program for you. You will study your academic courses in English and a second language of your choice, and you will learn from field experiences with

international banks. Edison’s finance program is an affiliate of the National Academy Foundation.

The College Board Academy offers an array of high-level courses for students who are highly motivated for high achievement in all academic disciplines. You will be enrolled in Advanced Placement and Honors courses throughout your years at Edison, sharpening your intellect by challenging it. Through this academy, you can earn college and high school credit at the same time, through dual-

enrollment partnerships with Miami Dade College and Florida International University.
