others,” she said.She said the registered endek craft-

“Then we hear the fire alarm,” Braun said by phone Monday evening. “Literally, the boy blew up the Apollo — he heated up the Apollo.” But Bieber still managed to finish his show, with the help of fans sing-ing along with him. “What it turned into was an Apollo moment, like one of those impromptu things,” said Nina Flowers, the Apollo’s rep.

“It was one of the most special nights I have ever been a part of,” said Braun. The power outage, which only affected the stage instruments and some lighting, occurred toward the end of the show. Braun said they were told the problem was supposed to be only a few minutes, but it stretched to more than 40 minutes.

At first, Bieber took the outage in stride. “He was joking, he said it was all the hot girls in here,” said Flowers. He then got on

the drums, which were working, for a solo, and had the crowd serenade Braun for his birthday.

But then Bieber got upset at the disrup-tion of the show, which was being taped as part of an NBC special to air later this week. “He started to get frustrated, because it had been 40 minutes,” said Braun.

However, instead of getting mad, Bieber decided to put his energy into performing for his fans, who stayed in the audience during the delay. “He walks out, he literally quiets the crowd, and he says, ‘I’m sorry the power is out. . (But) you guys have always had my back. I’m going to sing ‘Boyfriend’ and you’re going to sing it back to me.’”

He then launched into his hit song from his new album “Believe” as the crowd of mainly teen girls sang along as he danced, Braun said. Flowers couldn’t say what caused the power outage, but she praised the 18-year-old entertainer for finishing the show. “He could have stopped; he could have not gone on and said, I did everything . but he came back on,” said Flowers.

DUBLIN — Aung San Suu Kyi and Bono joined forces Monday as the Myan-mar democracy activist’s European tour moved from the home of the Nobel Peace Prize to the land of U2. The pair spent more than an hour answering questions at an Oslo conference of peace mediators at the end of Suu Kyi’s four-day visit to Norway. Then they jetted together to the Irish capital, Dublin, for an evening concert in her honor.

EvEry Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc.

The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is con-sidered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion.

The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines.

In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbul-umbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Chief of the gamelan troupe, I Gusti Putu Suryana, exposed that such Bungbung Kepyak had set to grow since 1934 in a cremation ceremony in Buleleng. When slaughtering a number of animals for ritual purposes, some people heard it and then made gamelan in-strument. Later on, it was named Bungbung Kepyak. It was once performed in Jembrana at that time. In fact, it could produce great sound and residents of Sebetan hamlet (now Satria neighborhood) hearing the sound were then inspired to establish the Bungbung Kepyak Gamelan Troupe in 1934. The troupe was pioneered by five local residents namely Ketut Geder, Pan Kanten, Pan Ketis, Pan Raba and Pan Dana. (kmb26)

Negara (Bali Post)—The recent weather changes outwit-

ted a number of farmers at some subak territories in Jembrana. They already planted rice during the growing season started with the rain for a few months ago. Now, in this dry season farmers are restless because they have difficulty in obtaining water.

As happened at Subak Benel, Ka-liakah village, Negara subdistrict, dozen hectares of rice fields have gone through serious drought. The growth of paddy plants was not normal and they averagely dwarfed. A number of rice fields looked to have been wilting due to drought. One of the local farm-ers, Ketut Sudon, cultivating some hectares of farmland experienced such condition. Even, some farmers seemed to have resigned and neglected their paddy plants so that they yellowed and wilted.

As a matter of fact, there was an irrigation channel from the local dam, but according to him, his subak did not have schedule in the last growing season. So far, they could not get any water and farmers who had grown rice finally lost out. Meanwhile, some lo-

cal farmers who grew rice decided to survive by taking advantage of water from artesian well.

From observation, the rice field area at Subak Benel was not entirely planted with rice. Some farmers planted theirs with crops. According to some farmers, this season was indeed not the turn for growing rice. Therefore, the irrigation water could not be opened for the subak area. Farmers claimed to mind because the schedule of water closure was quite long. Since it rained in the recent growing season, a number of farmers were desper-ate to grow rice by relying on rain-fed water. In fact, recently it did not rain.

Based on the data in the Jembrana Agriculture Agency, other than Subak Benel, there were some subak territo-ries hit by drought such as Babakan Mendoyo (5.5 ha) as well as Subak Pecelengan Pedukuhan, Mendoyo (45 ha). The Head of Jembrana Agriculture Agency, I Ketut Wiratma, not long ago said that in response to the drought his party had intensely appealed every sub-ak administrator to adjust their activity to the existing season. Hopefully, they did not insist on growing rice when the water was not enough. (kmb26)

Astronauts will live and work in the module for several days as part of preparations for manning a permanent space station. The crew includes 33-year-old Liu Yang, an air force pilot and China’s first female space traveler.

They will spend at least 10 days in space on China’s fourth manned mission, which was launched Satur-day from the Jiuquan center on the edge of the Gobi desert in northern China.

CANBERRA, Australia — An archaeologist says he found the oldest piece of rock art in Australia and one of the oldest in the world: an Aboriginal work created 28,000 years ago in an Outback cave. The dating of one of the thousands of images in the Northern Territory rock shelter known as Nawarla Gabarnmang will be published in the next edition of the Journal of Archaeological Science.

University of Southern Queen-sland archaeologist Bryce Barker said Monday that he found the rock in June last year but only recently had it dated at New Zealand’s Uni-versity of Waikato radiocarbon laboratory. He said the rock art was made with charcoal, so radiocarbon dating could be used to determine its age. Most rock art is made with mineral paint, so its age cannot be accurately measured.

“It’s the oldest unequivocally dated rock art in Australia” and among the oldest in the world, Barker said. The oldest known rock art is in Spain, where hand stencils and red disks made by blowing paint on to the wall in El Castillo cave are at least 40,800 years old, according to scientists using a tech-nique known as uranium-thorium

For that group, lack of health insurance coverage was 21.3 percent in 2011, making up 40.7 million people, according to the data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The study recorded the fewest unin-sured adults in 1997 (13.9 percent). The high point came in 2010 when 22.3 percent of the population was uninsured.

“There has been a generally increasing trend in the percentage

of adults aged 18-64 who lacked coverage at the time of interview,” said the study, which was based on survey results from 32 of the 50 states.

The change in children’s cover-age status was largely explained by a 36.5 percentage point rise in government-sponsored public coverage for the poor from 1997 to 2011. Meanwhile, the rate of pri-vate coverage among low-income children was 25.1 percentage points lower in 2011 than in 1997.

This show will be performed by 40 artists, consists of dancers and musicians. They will enter-tain audiences around one hour.

Conservative New Democracy leader An-tonis Samaras has promised to negotiate less punishing terms for Greece’s international bailout, after only narrowly beating a radical left-wing party that campaigned to scrap the austerity deal entirely. A senior New Democ-racy official expected agreement soon on a new cabinet with the PASOK Socialists and possibly another smaller centre-left party following Sunday’s election, the second in as many months. Speaking late on Monday, he said a deal would be reached on Tuesday that would involve more than a symbolic involve-ment by PASOK in the government.

“They will participate actively,” said the official, who declined to be identified. New Democracy and PASOK alternated in power from the fall of military rule in 1974 until last year, when Greece’s economic crisis forced the arch rivals to share power in a pro-bailout national unity government.

“Political leaders should be aware of the

fact that this government is Greece’s last chance to remain in the eurozone,” the centre-left daily Ta Nea said in an editorial. “The Greek people are ready to reward the parties that manage to ease austerity and punish those that raise voices of dissent,” it said.

The comment underscored the widespread expectation in Greece that a new government will be able to negotiate an easing in the tough conditions of the European Union and International Monetary Fund bailout despite resistance from Germany. Many Greeks hold both parties responsible for the nation’s near bankruptcy, which forced it to take bailouts from the European Union and IMF in 2010 and again this year.

YANGON - Myanmar will embark on a “second wave of reforms” that will include tentative privatization and a law on the minimum wage, President Thein Sein said on Tuesday, indicating no let-up in the country’s rapid economic overhaul. “From this year onwards, we are working on a second wave of reforms which will focus especially on the development of the country and the public’s welfare,” said the former general, who has presided over the managed float of Myan-mar’s currency and other unprecedented reforms since taking office last year.

An eagerly awaited foreign investment law would be enacted in the next parliamen-tary session, expected next month, while the government was also drafting laws on

industrial zones and a minimum wage. The government vowed to triple gross domestic product per capita by fiscal 2015/16, Thein Sein said in a televised speech billed by offi-cial media as a “state of the union address” on his impoverished country’s reform process.

In the wake of sectarian riots in north-west Myanmar that killed 50 people and displaced 30,000, he also vowed to “con-tinue to work on national reconciliation, national peace and stability and the rule of law, and the safety of the public”.

Thein Sein, whose quasi-civilian gov-ernment replaced a military junta that he was a member of 15 months ago, spoke of reducing the state role in several important industries, including telecommunications, electricity, energy, forestry, education, health and “financial matters”.

LOS CABOS - British Prime Minister David Cameron urged his EU partners on Monday to share their debt burden and allow the European Central Bank to play a more active role in support-ing economic recovery.

In remarks that will annoy Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, who insists the bank must stick to its inflation-busting mandate, Cameron said: “We cannot afford for central banks around the world to stand on the sidelines.”

“The Eurozone has two choic-es,” Cameron told an audience of international business leaders gathered in the Mexican resort of Los Cabos ahead of the G20

summit of the world’s most pow-erful developed and emerging economies.

“Either they try to force down wages and prices in the periph-ery as fast as they can to restore competitiveness ... or the core of the eurozone has to do more to support the periphery through greater fiscal burden sharing,” he said.

Cameron said that Britain would never itself join the single currency bloc, but that EU mem-bers who had chosen to do so must move towards a banking union, joint economic govern-ment and “greater transfers be-tween eurozone members”.

“The path would be made easier by more being done to support demand, through greater

monetary activism by the Eu-ropean Central Bank,” he said, hailing the Bank of England and US Federal Reserve’s provision of massive liquidity to their economies.

“In Britain we’ve been able to ease our adjustment through loose monetary policy ... and it is becoming increasingly clear in the eurozone that the core, including the ECB, must do more to support demand,” he said.

Cameron’s advice to his EU colleagues might not be well received.

Shortly before he gave his speech, European Commission chairman Jose Manuel Barroso testily told a news conference: “We are certainly not coming here to receive lessons from nobody.”

In a clear statement of their new force in the world economy, rising economic powers brought some $95.5 billion in new money to the table for the IMF during the G20 summit in Mexico, pushing it be-yond its $430 billion target.

But the money also came with a warning that things had to change at the Fund, long dominated by the now troubled economic powers of Europe and the United States, which itself has not contributed to the firewall.

In an announcement late Mon-day, the IMF said China was of-fering $43 billion, Brazil, Russia, India and Mexico $10 billion each, $5 billion from Turkey, and smaller sums from a handful of other up-and-coming economies.

IMF managing director Christine Lagarde said that 12 more countries have offered money to the fund, bringing the total to 37.

The contributions show “the broad commitment of the member-ship to ensure the IMF has access

to adequate resources to carry out its mandate in the interests of global financial stability,” she said.

The announcement brought an end to the mystery of how much the powerful BRICS countries -- Bra-zil, Russia, India, China and South Africa -- would provide.

They held back two months ago when the IMF solicited com-mitments at its spring meetings in Washington and only gathered a firm $340 billion.

That was well below the $500 billion the Fund’s own economists had said would be an adequate expansion of its crisis interven-tion funding, given the potential of more contagion in the troubled eurozone.

China’s contribution was the most keenly awaited. The world’s second largest economy has the largest pile of foreign reserves, $3.2 trillion.

Its contribution fell below only Japan’s $60 billion and German’s $54.7 billion, but was ahead of

France and all other donors.The largest economy, the United

States, on the other hand is not contributing, despite its huge voting power on the IMF board.

While Washington has insisted Europe has enough resources to resolve its problems itself, it is also clear that the deeply divided Con-

gress is in no mood, given the US economic problems, to contribute rescue funds for others.

The contributions from the BRICS came with warnings that they want to see changes at the IMF, where their voting power is a fraction of their power in the global economy, and that the

mony should not be reserved for Europe.

Meeting on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in the Mexi-can resort, the five BRICS leaders renewed their call for a greater say at the IMF and World Bank, both historically dominated by the United States and Europe.

Authorities said they determined eight more homes have burned in the fire near Fort Collins. The blaze started June 9 and now has destroyed at least 189 homes — the most in the state’s history. The fire is 50 percent contained.

The wind was relatively calm Monday, despite forecasts of gusts of up to 50 mph, fire information officer Brett Haberstick said. Temperatures, however, were in the mid-90s, and the relative humidity was extremely low at 3 to 5 percent, he said.

Other wildfires were burning in warm, arid weather from Wyoming to Arizona to Southern California, where a blaze that prompted the evacuation of at least 150 homes was 30 percent contained Monday.

Fire officials warned that the 907-acre fire in eastern San Diego County still threatens 200 houses, sheds and other buildings. The fire has destroyed at least one home.

In Colorado, another fire that started Sunday in the foothills west of Colorado Springs prompted evacuations of cabins, a Boy Scout camp and a recreation area near the Elevenmile Canyon Reservoir, which provides water to the Den-ver area.

That fire has burned about 1 1/2 square miles, and fire managers said it has the potential to grow much more in the dry conditions. Authorities hadn’t listed a contain-ment figure by Monday.

Meanwhile, a fire near Pagosa Springs in the southwestern part of the state grew to nearly 19 square miles and was 30 percent con-tained.

As firefighters try to get the upper hand on the blaze near Fort Collins, which has burned large swaths of private and U.S. Forest Service land, local authorities have dispatched roving patrols to combat looting.

On Sunday, deputies arrested Michael Stillman Maher, 30, of Denver, on charges including theft and impersonating a firefighter. The sheriff’s department said Maher was driving through the fire zone with phony firefighter credentials and a stolen government license plate.

His truck was later seen near a bar in Laporte, and investigators said they found a gun and stolen property in the vehicle.

Jeff Corum, whose home burned on the first day of the northern Colorado fire, described whirling, unpredictable winds that drove the

blaze.“That’s what it’s been doing, back

and forth,” Corum said. “It’s just like a washing machine, and it’s just rolling up there, and that’s the way the mountains are.”

Corum grabbed some clothing and two weapons when he fled, but not his credit cards. He’s spent a few nights in a motel, some at a Red Cross evacuation center and some in his truck.

The fire also is forcing wildlife to flee the flames. A moose seeking shelter in Fort Collins is back in the wild after swimming across Horse-tooth Reservoir, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reported.

Wildlife officials tranquilized the moose, blindfolded it and moved it to an area away from the fire. City officials say they’re expecting more wild animals than usual because of the fire.

On Monday, Rocky Mountain National Park enacted a ban on all campfires because of the threat of wildfires in Colorado. The park normally allows campfires in des-ignated fire rings, but the ban will prohibit those, as well as charcoal grilling, for the first time since Sep-tember 2010.

He said the geothermal power

plant industry is a highly risky business and needs large invest-ment.

PGE hoped the sales price of electricity from geothermal en-ergy produced at Ulubelu 3 and 4 would be better than Ulubelu 1 and 2 which will soon start operating or at least as set by the government.

“We hope the price set by the government would at least be economically reasonable. For steam Rp7 cents per kWh, and electricity Rp10 per kWh. Thus the price of geothermal power higher than Rp4.2 sent per kWh,” Slamet said.

Slamet said PT PGE is manag-ing 292 megawatts of geothermal

power energy, and 20 MW of which is produced by PLTP Lahendong.

This year he added, PGE has set a target of producing 110 megawatts from the geothermal area in PLTP Ulubelu 1 dan 2.

“So from Ulubelu 1 and 2 we will be selling to PLN, and there would be no need to lend from the World Bank. But for building PLTP Ulubelu 3 and 4 we need a loan to build the power plants,” Slamet said.

Slamet said the USD300 mil-lion loan would be a soft loan from the World Bank to boost the production of 1,000 megawatts of geothermal power especially to serve Sumatra and Sulawesi.

The meeting was attended by among others acting Papua Gover-nor Syamsul Arief Rivai, Chairman of the Papua General Elections Commission (KPU) Beny Sweny, Chairman of the Papua Legislative Council Jhon Ibo, and Papua Provin-cial Police Deputy Chief Brig. Gen. Paulus Waterpauw.

A day before, Djoko stated that President Susilo Bambang Yud-hoyono has continued implementing a welfare approach to deal with the problems in Papua.

“Until now the approach used is welfare and not military, because a military approach is only useful for dealing with crimes,” Djoko said at a meeting with community and religious leaders and members of the Papuan legislative assembly (DPRP) and the Papuan People Council (MRP) here on Monday.

He stated that he had come to Papua not because of the recent violent incidents, but because of his duty to learn about what happened in the region.

“Indeed it is not easy to unite the views of different parties, but the most important thing is how to unite Papua peacefully so that the province could catch up with other regions,” Djoko noted.

He added that the government hoped to “bring Papua in harmony with the Unitary State of Indone-sia”.

Regarding the implementation of special autonomy in Papua, Djoko said the program had not yet been able to meet public expectations.

In view of that, he added, the im-plementation of the program would continue to be evaluated, which had led to the issuance of Presidential In-struction Number 5 of 2005 and the establishment of the UP4B (Papua and West Papua Development Ac-celeration Unit) in 2011.

The meeting was also attended by defense forces commander Admiral Agus Suhartono, national police chief General Timur Pradopo, and National Intelligence Agency chief Marciano Norman.

AMBON — A rescue official said Tuesday that at least 58 people were missing from a boat that cap-sized over the weekend in eastern Indonesia — a far higher potential death toll than authorities initially thought.

Earlier authorities said only 14 people were missing in Sunday’s sinking. Dony Haryanto of the lo-cal search and rescue agency said the updated number was based on reports from relatives of the pas-sengers and crew.

The Putri Ayu boat was traveling from Maluku’s provincial capital, Ambon, to the nearby island of Buru when it capsized after being battered by a 3-meter-high (10-foot-high) wave. Twelve people were rescued Sunday, but Haryanto said

rescuers have found nothing since then, despite good weather and ex-tra ships and fishing boats joining the search Tuesday.

The overloaded wooden boat was carrying at least 70 people, but was licensed to carry just 40 and listed only 27 on its manifest. Manifests are generally unreliable in Indonesia because tickets are sold onboard to passengers who are never registered.

Dozens of families and relatives were waiting for good news of their loved ones in Ambon’s Slamet Riadi port, Haryanto said.

Ships are a main source of transportation in Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelago nation with more than 17,000 islands. Accidents are common because the boats are often overloaded and poorly maintained.

She added that young people preferred taking modern profession even though it was only a shop attendant to sitting and weaving endek fabric like generation of their parents. Due to difficulty of finding weavers, the weaving artisans finally completed their orders late.

Denpasar City was formerly a famous center of endek fabric sales in Bali. Some crafters also sold their products to consumers loving traditional ikat cloth. Unfortunately, such condition had now been shifting where all merchants had moved to Klungkung Market.

In response to such condition, Denpasar Mayor IB Rai Dhar-mawijaya Mantra asked to take back the glory of Kumbasari Market which was formerly known as sales center of the endek fabric. LONDON - British police are investigating a complaint of assault after Argentine tennis player David Nalbandian injured a linesman in a petulant outburst during the final of the Queen’s Club tournament at the weekend. The govern-ing body of men’s tennis (ATP) said separately that they had fined the player the maximum of 10,000 euros ($12,600). Nalbandian had already forfeited prize money (at least $56,800) and ranking points for the week.

The ATP also said he could face an ad-ditional fine or ban once the governing body has finished reviewing the incident. Nalbandian was leading Sunday’s match 7-6 3-3 when he dropped serve in the seventh game and reacted by kicking out at a wooden advertising board which disintegrated on impact and slammed into official Andrew McDougall’s left leg.

A shocked McDougall cried out and in-stantly clutched his shin. When he rolled up his trouser leg, blood could be seen seeping from the wound. He received some on-court attention before being escorted off the ground to the club’s medical centre.

After prolonged discussions between offi-cials, umpire Fergus Murphy disqualified Nal-bandian for “unsportsmanlike behaviour” and awarded the match to his Croatian opponent Marin Cilic. A Scotland Yard spokesman said on Monday: “An allegation of assault has been made to us relating to an incident at the... tennis tournament and we are now investigating.”

Nalbandian apologised after the incident, saying: “I know (what) I did (is) a mistake, 100 percent. I feel very sorry for the guy. I didn’t want to do that. But sometimes you get angry and you cannot control those moments.”

Bilic will take over Russian top flight side Lokomotiv Moscow at the start of next season and, although he must be looking forward to a fresh challenge, coaching his country remains the most emotional endeavour of his career.

“I didn’t expect this to be my last game in charge because I thought we would get past the group stage with this phenomenal group who’ve shown great character and built a fantastic atmopshere,” he told Croatian television. “I want to congratulate the players for six years of impeccable work and behaviour.

Cassano, who missed half the season with AC Milan after undergoing a minor heart operation, headed home 10 minutes before the break and Balotelli brilliantly hooked the ball home in the final minute to leave Italy second with five points behind Spain.

“It has been a very difficult match, we came up against a team that made us suffer,” Italy coach Cesare Prandelli said. “Today we knew that heart mattered more than quality. Tonight we created a lot, I hope it will be like this also in the next match.”

The physical Irish, already eliminated after two defeats, forced a flurry of late free kicks and corners as Italy, who gave up leads in 1-1 draws with Spain and Croatia, again appeared to tire.

Having conceded early goals in losses Croatia and Spain, Ireland were determined not to get caught out again and went straight on to the attack.

Backed by a vociferous and large contingent in the crowd, they looked briefly threatening against an Italian side which featured four changes to the starting line-up. Italy took their time to get going with Andrea Pirlo getting plenty of the ball but struggling to find openings for Cassano and strike

partner Antonio Di Natale who replaced Balotelli.

Di Natale had the first real chance after a break down the left by Federico Balzaretti and there were appeals for handball as his shot was blocked by a defender. Cassano then had a shot fumbled by Shay Given before Italy went ahead from a corner.

Pirlo’s inswinging effort found Cassano at the near post and, al-though Given got a hand to his header, the ball crossed the line before Damien Duff, making his 100th appearance, could hook it away. Italy kept attacking after the break, Cassano wasting a good chance with a side-footed shot before Daniele De Rossi curled another effort over.

set up Di Natale whose shot from a difficult angle was blocked by Given. Keith Andrews reminded Italy that the game was not over as his awkward long-range shot gave Gianluigi Buffon his first real test of the game on the hour.

Italy began looking nervous and there was a rare moment when Pirlo lost possession to Andrews in midfield but De Rossi came to the rescue with a timely tackle to block the Irish midfielder’s shot.

Another thumping Andrews shot was saved by Buffon as Italy clung on and the Ireland mid-fielder was sent off for his second bookable offence moments before Balotelli settled matters with a superb piece of skill, the maverick forward living up to his reputation when he failed to celebrate his stunning goal.

LONDON - British police are investigating a complaint of assault after Argentine tennis player David Nalbandian injured a linesman in a petulant outburst during the final of the Queen’s Club tournament at the weekend. The govern-ing body of men’s tennis (ATP) said separately that they had fined the player the maximum of 10,000 euros ($12,600). Nalbandian had already forfeited prize money (at least $56,800) and ranking points for the week.

The ATP also said he could face an ad-ditional fine or ban once the governing body has finished reviewing the incident. Nalbandian was leading Sunday’s match 7-6 3-3 when he dropped serve in the seventh game and reacted by kicking out at a wooden advertising board which disintegrated on impact and slammed into official Andrew McDougall’s left leg.

A shocked McDougall cried out and in-stantly clutched his shin. When he rolled up his trouser leg, blood could be seen seeping from the wound. He received some on-court attention before being escorted off the ground to the club’s medical centre.

After prolonged discussions between offi-cials, umpire Fergus Murphy disqualified Nal-bandian for “unsportsmanlike behaviour” and awarded the match to his Croatian opponent Marin Cilic. A Scotland Yard spokesman said on Monday: “An allegation of assault has been made to us relating to an incident at the... tennis tournament and we are now investigating.”

Nalbandian apologised after the incident, saying: “I know (what) I did (is) a mistake, 100 percent. I feel very sorry for the guy. I didn’t want to do that. But sometimes you get angry and you cannot control those moments.”

Authorities said they determined eight more homes have burned in the fire near Fort Collins. The blaze started June 9 and now has destroyed at least 189 homes — the most in the state’s history. The fire is 50 percent contained.

The wind was relatively calm Monday, despite forecasts of gusts of up to 50 mph, fire information officer Brett Haberstick said. Temperatures, however, were in the mid-90s, and the relative humidity was extremely low at 3 to 5 percent, he said.

Other wildfires were burning in warm, arid weather from Wyoming to Arizona to Southern California, where a blaze that prompted the evacuation of at least 150 homes was 30 percent contained Monday.

Fire officials warned that the 907-acre fire in eastern San Diego County still threatens 200 houses, sheds and other buildings. The fire has destroyed at least one home.

In Colorado, another fire that started Sunday in the foothills west of Colorado Springs prompted evacuations of cabins, a Boy Scout camp and a recreation area near the Elevenmile Canyon Reservoir, which provides water to the Den-ver area.

That fire has burned about 1 1/2 square miles, and fire managers said it has the potential to grow much more in the dry conditions. Authorities hadn’t listed a contain-ment figure by Monday.

Meanwhile, a fire near Pagosa Springs in the southwestern part of the state grew to nearly 19 square miles and was 30 percent con-tained.

As firefighters try to get the upper hand on the blaze near Fort Collins, which has burned large swaths of private and U.S. Forest Service land, local authorities have dispatched roving patrols to combat looting.

On Sunday, deputies arrested Michael Stillman Maher, 30, of Denver, on charges including theft and impersonating a firefighter. The sheriff’s department said Maher was driving through the fire zone with phony firefighter credentials and a stolen government license plate.

His truck was later seen near a bar in Laporte, and investigators said they found a gun and stolen property in the vehicle.

Jeff Corum, whose home burned on the first day of the northern Colorado fire, described whirling, unpredictable winds that drove the

blaze.“That’s what it’s been doing, back

and forth,” Corum said. “It’s just like a washing machine, and it’s just rolling up there, and that’s the way the mountains are.”

Corum grabbed some clothing and two weapons when he fled, but not his credit cards. He’s spent a few nights in a motel, some at a Red Cross evacuation center and some in his truck.

The fire also is forcing wildlife to flee the flames. A moose seeking shelter in Fort Collins is back in the wild after swimming across Horse-tooth Reservoir, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reported.

Wildlife officials tranquilized the moose, blindfolded it and moved it to an area away from the fire. City officials say they’re expecting more wild animals than usual because of the fire.

On Monday, Rocky Mountain National Park enacted a ban on all campfires because of the threat of wildfires in Colorado. The park normally allows campfires in des-ignated fire rings, but the ban will prohibit those, as well as charcoal grilling, for the first time since Sep-tember 2010.

PGE hoped the sales price of electricity from geothermal en-ergy produced at Ulubelu 3 and 4 would be better than Ulubelu 1 and 2 which will soon start operating or at least as set by the government.

“We hope the price set by the government would at least be economically reasonable. For steam Rp7 cents per kWh, and electricity Rp10 per kWh. Thus the price of geothermal power higher than Rp4.2 sent per kWh,” Slamet said.

Slamet said PT PGE is manag-ing 292 megawatts of geothermal

power energy, and 20 MW of which is produced by PLTP Lahendong.

This year he added, PGE has set a target of producing 110 megawatts from the geothermal area in PLTP Ulubelu 1 dan 2.

“So from Ulubelu 1 and 2 we will be selling to PLN, and there would be no need to lend from the World Bank. But for building PLTP Ulubelu 3 and 4 we need a loan to build the power plants,” Slamet said.

Slamet said the USD300 mil-lion loan would be a soft loan from the World Bank to boost the production of 1,000 megawatts of geothermal power especially to serve Sumatra and Sulawesi.

The meeting was attended by among others acting Papua Gover-nor Syamsul Arief Rivai, Chairman of the Papua General Elections Commission (KPU) Beny Sweny, Chairman of the Papua Legislative Council Jhon Ibo, and Papua Provin-cial Police Deputy Chief Brig. Gen. Paulus Waterpauw.

A day before, Djoko stated that President Susilo Bambang Yud-hoyono has continued implementing a welfare approach to deal with the problems in Papua.

“Until now the approach used is welfare and not military, because a military approach is only useful for dealing with crimes,” Djoko said at a meeting with community and religious leaders and members of the Papuan legislative assembly (DPRP) and the Papuan People Council (MRP) here on Monday.

He stated that he had come to Papua not because of the recent violent incidents, but because of his duty to learn about what happened in the region.

“Indeed it is not easy to unite the views of different parties, but the most important thing is how to unite Papua peacefully so that the province could catch up with other regions,” Djoko noted.

He added that the government hoped to “bring Papua in harmony with the Unitary State of Indone-sia”.

Regarding the implementation of special autonomy in Papua, Djoko said the program had not yet been able to meet public expectations.

In view of that, he added, the im-plementation of the program would continue to be evaluated, which had led to the issuance of Presidential In-struction Number 5 of 2005 and the establishment of the UP4B (Papua and West Papua Development Ac-celeration Unit) in 2011.

AMBON — A rescue official said Tuesday that at least 58 people were missing from a boat that cap-sized over the weekend in eastern Indonesia — a far higher potential death toll than authorities initially thought.

Earlier authorities said only 14 people were missing in Sunday’s sinking. Dony Haryanto of the lo-cal search and rescue agency said the updated number was based on reports from relatives of the pas-sengers and crew.

The Putri Ayu boat was traveling from Maluku’s provincial capital, Ambon, to the nearby island of Buru when it capsized after being battered by a 3-meter-high (10-foot-high) wave. Twelve people were rescued Sunday, but Haryanto said

rescuers have found nothing since then, despite good weather and ex-tra ships and fishing boats joining the search Tuesday.

The overloaded wooden boat was carrying at least 70 people, but was licensed to carry just 40 and listed only 27 on its manifest. Manifests are generally unreliable in Indonesia because tickets are sold onboard to passengers who are never registered.

Dozens of families and relatives were waiting for good news of their loved ones in Ambon’s Slamet Riadi port, Haryanto said.

Ships are a main source of transportation in Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelago nation with more than 17,000 islands. Accidents are common because the boats are often overloaded and poorly maintained.

She added that young people preferred taking modern profession even though it was only a shop attendant to sitting and weaving endek fabric like generation of their parents. Due to difficulty of finding weavers, the weaving artisans finally completed their orders late.

Denpasar City was formerly a famous center of endek fabric sales in Bali. Some crafters also sold their products to consumers loving traditional ikat cloth. Unfortunately, such condition had now been shifting where all merchants had moved to Klungkung Market.

In response to such condition, Denpasar Mayor IB Rai Dhar-mawijaya Mantra asked to take back the glory of Kumbasari Market which was formerly known as sales center of the endek fabric. LOS CABOS - British Prime Minister David Cameron urged his EU partners on Monday to share their debt burden and allow the European Central Bank to play a more active role in support-ing economic recovery.

In remarks that will annoy Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, who insists the bank must stick to its inflation-busting mandate, Cameron said: “We cannot afford for central banks around the world to stand on the sidelines.”

“The Eurozone has two choic-es,” Cameron told an audience of international business leaders gathered in the Mexican resort of Los Cabos ahead of the G20

summit of the world’s most pow-erful developed and emerging economies.

“Either they try to force down wages and prices in the periph-ery as fast as they can to restore competitiveness ... or the core of the eurozone has to do more to support the periphery through greater fiscal burden sharing,” he said.

Cameron said that Britain would never itself join the single currency bloc, but that EU mem-bers who had chosen to do so must move towards a banking union, joint economic govern-ment and “greater transfers be-tween eurozone members”.

“The path would be made easier by more being done to support demand, through greater

monetary activism by the Eu-ropean Central Bank,” he said, hailing the Bank of England and US Federal Reserve’s provision of massive liquidity to their economies.

“In Britain we’ve been able to ease our adjustment through loose monetary policy ... and it is becoming increasingly clear in the eurozone that the core, including the ECB, must do more to support demand,” he said.

Cameron’s advice to his EU colleagues might not be well received.

Shortly before he gave his speech, European Commission chairman Jose Manuel Barroso testily told a news conference: “We are certainly not coming here to receive lessons from nobody.”

In a clear statement of their new force in the world economy, rising economic powers brought some $95.5 billion in new money to the table for the IMF during the G20 summit in Mexico, pushing it be-yond its $430 billion target.

But the money also came with a warning that things had to change at the Fund, long dominated by the now troubled economic powers of Europe and the United States, which itself has not contributed to the firewall.

In an announcement late Mon-day, the IMF said China was of-fering $43 billion, Brazil, Russia, India and Mexico $10 billion each, $5 billion from Turkey, and smaller sums from a handful of other up-and-coming economies.

IMF managing director Christine Lagarde said that 12 more countries have offered money to the fund, bringing the total to 37.

The contributions show “the broad commitment of the member-ship to ensure the IMF has access

to adequate resources to carry out its mandate in the interests of global financial stability,” she said.

The announcement brought an end to the mystery of how much the powerful BRICS countries -- Bra-zil, Russia, India, China and South Africa -- would provide.

They held back two months ago when the IMF solicited com-mitments at its spring meetings in Washington and only gathered a firm $340 billion.

That was well below the $500 billion the Fund’s own economists had said would be an adequate expansion of its crisis interven-tion funding, given the potential of more contagion in the troubled eurozone.

China’s contribution was the most keenly awaited. The world’s second largest economy has the largest pile of foreign reserves, $3.2 trillion.

Its contribution fell below only Japan’s $60 billion and German’s $54.7 billion, but was ahead of

France and all other donors.The largest economy, the United

States, on the other hand is not contributing, despite its huge voting power on the IMF board.

While Washington has insisted Europe has enough resources to resolve its problems itself, it is also clear that the deeply divided Con-

gress is in no mood, given the US economic problems, to contribute rescue funds for others.

The contributions from the BRICS came with warnings that they want to see changes at the IMF, where their voting power is a fraction of their power in the global economy, and that the

mony should not be reserved for Europe.

Meeting on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in the Mexi-can resort, the five BRICS leaders renewed their call for a greater say at the IMF and World Bank, both historically dominated by the United States and Europe.

Conservative New Democracy leader An-tonis Samaras has promised to negotiate less punishing terms for Greece’s international bailout, after only narrowly beating a radical left-wing party that campaigned to scrap the austerity deal entirely. A senior New Democ-racy official expected agreement soon on a new cabinet with the PASOK Socialists and possibly another smaller centre-left party following Sunday’s election, the second in as many months. Speaking late on Monday, he said a deal would be reached on Tuesday that would involve more than a symbolic involve-ment by PASOK in the government.

“They will participate actively,” said the official, who declined to be identified. New Democracy and PASOK alternated in power from the fall of military rule in 1974 until last year, when Greece’s economic crisis forced the arch rivals to share power in a pro-bailout national unity government.

“Political leaders should be aware of the

fact that this government is Greece’s last chance to remain in the eurozone,” the centre-left daily Ta Nea said in an editorial. “The Greek people are ready to reward the parties that manage to ease austerity and punish those that raise voices of dissent,” it said.

The comment underscored the widespread expectation in Greece that a new government will be able to negotiate an easing in the tough conditions of the European Union and International Monetary Fund bailout despite resistance from Germany. YANGON - Myanmar will embark on a “second wave of reforms” that will include tentative privatization and a law on the minimum wage, President Thein Sein said on Tuesday, indicating no let-up in the country’s rapid economic overhaul. “From this year onwards, we are working on a second wave of reforms which will focus especially on the development of the country and the public’s welfare,” said the former general, who has presided over the managed float of Myan-mar’s currency and other unprecedented reforms since taking office last year.

An eagerly awaited foreign investment law would be enacted in the next parliamen-tary session, expected next month, while the government was also drafting laws on

industrial zones and a minimum wage. The government vowed to triple gross domestic product per capita by fiscal 2015/16, Thein Sein said in a televised speech billed by offi-cial media as a “state of the union address” on his impoverished country’s reform process.

In the wake of sectarian riots in north-west Myanmar that killed 50 people and displaced 30,000, he also vowed to “con-tinue to work on national reconciliation, national peace and stability and the rule of law, and the safety of the public”.

Thein Sein, whose quasi-civilian gov-ernment replaced a military junta that he was a member of 15 months ago, spoke of reducing the state role in several important industries, including telecommunications, electricity, energy, forestry, education, health and “financial matters”.

CANBERRA, Australia — An archaeologist says he found the oldest piece of rock art in Australia and one of the oldest in the world: an Aboriginal work created 28,000 years ago in an Outback cave. The dating of one of the thousands of images in the Northern Territory rock shelter known as Nawarla Gabarnmang will be published in the next edition of the Journal of Archaeological Science.

University of Southern Queen-sland archaeologist Bryce Barker said Monday that he found the rock in June last year but only recently had it dated at New Zealand’s Uni-versity of Waikato radiocarbon laboratory. He said the rock art was made with charcoal, so radiocarbon dating could be used to determine its age. Most rock art is made with mineral paint, so its age cannot be accurately measured.

“It’s the oldest unequivocally dated rock art in Australia” and among the oldest in the world, Barker said. The oldest known rock art is in Spain, where hand stencils and red disks made by blowing paint on to the wall in El Castillo cave are at least 40,800 years old, according to scientists using a tech-nique known as uranium-thorium

For that group, lack of health insurance coverage was 21.3 percent in 2011, making up 40.7 million people, according to the data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The study recorded the fewest unin-sured adults in 1997 (13.9 percent). The high point came in 2010 when 22.3 percent of the population was uninsured.

“There has been a generally increasing trend in the percentage

of adults aged 18-64 who lacked coverage at the time of interview,” said the study, which was based on survey results from 32 of the 50 states.

The change in children’s cover-age status was largely explained by a 36.5 percentage point rise in government-sponsored public coverage for the poor from 1997 to 2011. Meanwhile, the rate of pri-vate coverage among low-income children was 25.1 percentage points lower in 2011 than in 1997.

This show will be performed by 40 artists, consists of dancers and musicians. They will enter-tain audiences around one hour.

EvEry Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc.

The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is con-sidered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion.

The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines.

In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbul-umbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Compared to some similar arts, the Bung-bung Kepyak had uniqueness, namely addi-tional gamelan instrument. Both pieces of bamboo blades resembling the gamelan were played by pounding it onto wooden pedestal. As a result, collision of the instrument then generated distinctive sounds. The instrument was played by four artists sitting in a position facing left and right to the bamboo log as the main gamelan instrument. At the rear also lied additional instrument in the form of two gamelans consisting of large and small intact bamboo. the Lila Budaya Bungbung Kepyak Gamelan Troupe from Dewasana hamlet, Pendem vil-lage, Negara.

Chief of the gamelan troupe, I Gusti Putu Suryana, exposed that such Bungbung Kepyak had set to grow since 1934 in a cremation ceremony in Buleleng. When slaughtering a number of animals for ritual purposes, some people heard it and then made gamelan in-strument. Later on, it was named Bungbung Kepyak. It was once performed in Jembrana at that time. In fact, it could produce great sound and residents of Sebetan hamlet (now Satria neighborhood) hearing the sound were then inspired to establish the Bungbung Kepyak Gamelan Troupe in 1934. The troupe was pioneered by five local residents namely Ketut Geder, Pan Kanten, Pan Ketis, Pan Raba and Pan Dana. (kmb26)

Negara (Bali Post)—The recent weather changes outwit-

ted a number of farmers at some subak territories in Jembrana. They already planted rice during the growing season started with the rain for a few months ago. Now, in this dry season farmers are restless because they have difficulty in obtaining water.

As happened at Subak Benel, Ka-liakah village, Negara subdistrict, dozen hectares of rice fields have gone through serious drought. The growth of paddy plants was not normal and they averagely dwarfed. A number of rice fields looked to have been wilting due to drought. One of the local farm-ers, Ketut Sudon, cultivating some hectares of farmland experienced such condition. Even, some farmers seemed to have resigned and neglected their paddy plants so that they yellowed and wilted.

As a matter of fact, there was an irrigation channel from the local dam, but according to him, his subak did not have schedule in the last growing season. So far, they could not get any water and farmers who had grown rice finally lost out. Meanwhile, some lo-

cal farmers who grew rice decided to survive by taking advantage of water from artesian well.

From observation, the rice field area at Subak Benel was not entirely planted with rice. Some farmers planted theirs with crops. According to some farmers, this season was indeed not the turn for growing rice. Therefore, the irrigation water could not be opened for the subak area. Farmers claimed to mind because the schedule of water closure was quite long. Since it rained in the recent growing season, a number of farmers were desper-ate to grow rice by relying on rain-fed water. In fact, recently it did not rain.

Based on the data in the Jembrana Agriculture Agency, other than Subak Benel, there were some subak territo-ries hit by drought such as Babakan Mendoyo (5.5 ha) as well as Subak Pecelengan Pedukuhan, Mendoyo (45 ha). The Head of Jembrana Agriculture Agency, I Ketut Wiratma, not long ago said that in response to the drought his party had intensely appealed every sub-ak administrator to adjust their activity to the existing season. Hopefully, they did not insist on growing rice when the water was not enough. (kmb26)

private show in front of a packed house when the power for most of the stage instru-ments suddenly went out, said his manager, Scooter Braun.

“Then we hear the fire alarm,” Braun said by phone Monday evening. “Literally, the boy blew up the Apollo — he heated up the Apollo.” But Bieber still managed to finish his show, with the help of fans sing-ing along with him. “What it turned into was an Apollo moment, like one of those impromptu things,” said Nina Flowers, the Apollo’s rep.

“It was one of the most special nights I have ever been a part of,” said Braun. The power outage, which only affected the stage instruments and some lighting, occurred toward the end of the show. Braun said they were told the problem was supposed to be only a few minutes, but it stretched to more than 40 minutes.

At first, Bieber took the outage in stride. “He was joking, he said it was all the hot girls in here,” said Flowers. He then got on

the drums, which were working, for a solo, and had the crowd serenade Braun for his birthday.

But then Bieber got upset at the disrup-tion of the show, which was being taped as part of an NBC special to air later this week. “He started to get frustrated, because it had been 40 minutes,” said Braun.

However, instead of getting mad, Bieber decided to put his energy into performing for his fans, who stayed in the audience during the delay. “He walks out, he literally quiets the crowd, and he says, ‘I’m sorry the power is out. . (But) you guys have always had my back. I’m going to sing ‘Boyfriend’ and you’re going to sing it back to me.’”

He then launched into his hit song from his new album “Believe” as the crowd of mainly teen girls sang along as he danced, Braun said. Flowers couldn’t say what caused the power outage, but she praised the 18-year-old entertainer for finishing the show. “He could have stopped; he could have not gone on and said, I did everything . but he came back on,” said Flowers.

DUBLIN — Aung San Suu Kyi and Bono joined forces Monday as the Myan-mar democracy activist’s European tour moved from the home of the Nobel Peace Prize to the land of U2. The pair spent more than an hour answering questions at an Oslo conference of peace mediators at the end of Suu Kyi’s four-day visit to Norway. Then they jetted together to the Irish capital, Dublin, for an evening concert in her honor.

Irish Foreign Minister Eamon Gilmore and a trio of children, two of them Bur-mese nationals, offered Suu Kyi flowers as she arrived at Dublin Airport. After meeting Irish President Michael D. Hig-gins, she arrived at a riverside theater to thunderous cheers and applause, with Bono and Nobel laureate poet Seamus Heaney walking alongside her down the red carpet.

Inside, Amnesty International orga-nized a three-hour show of songs, poems and speeches in her honor featuring top Irish stars, and set against a backdrop of a wall of opened birdcages symbolizing her freedom from house arrest in 2010.

Croatia, who battled hard against the world and European champions, went out as Italy finished second thanks to a 2-0 win over Ireland.
