Earlier, former Regent of Ta-banan claimed will not form a special committee because the problem on reclamation of Benoa Bay was considered not urgent. But

in the dialogue that will be aired on Bali TV, Wiryatama promised to revisit this issue in order to be pro-people.

Traditional Village, I Made Wijaya, SE, asserted, reclamation is not the ideals and wishes of the people of Tanjung Benoa. “What we want is restructuring, arranging Benoa Bay

While an eve-of-show computer glitch appeared to suggest two other films could take the top prizes, “Bird-man” is still in strong position, earning a string of accolades and other nomina-tions leading up to the Globes.

Unusually rainy weather looks set to dampen the arrival of A-listers on the red carpet in Beverly Hills for the Globes, second only to the Oscars in terms of Tinseltown awards buzz.

“Birdman,” which stars former “Batman” Michael Keaton as a washed-up film actor trying to revive his career on stage, has earned the most nominations with seven.

Coming-of-age drama “Boyhood” and Nazi code-breaking thriller “The Imitation Game” starring Britain’s Benedict Cumberbatch are also hotly tipped to take home trophies with five nods apiece.

British actors feature strongly at the Globes: Cumberbatch and his co-star Keira Knightley are among a batch of British nominees in both the film and television categories.

Comic actresses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be hosting the show for the third straight year at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where the festivities will begin at 5:00 pm (0100 GMT Mon-day).

Some industry experts have high-lighted the lack of a clear frontrunner, in contrast to previous years like in 2012, when “The Artist” had a virtual lock on Best Picture prizes straight through to the Oscars.

“It seems like a real toss-up,” Tom Nunan of the UCLA School of The-ater, Film and Television told AFP, adding that actors in this year’s race had all turned in “career-best perfor-

mances.”This year’s crop of nominated mov-

ies is heavy on true stories: four of the five Globes best drama contenders are based on real-life events.

Among the historical figures fea-tured are British geniuses Stephen Hawking and Alan Turing, and Martin Luther King Jr.

In the best musical or comedy cate-gory, the widely acclaimed “Birdman” still seems to be the film to beat.

The movie also earned nods for best actor for Keaton, best supporting ac-tor (Edward Norton), best supporting actress (Emma Stone) and best direc-tor (Mexico’s Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu).

Its rivals include Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” Dis-ney’s dark musical fairytale romp “Into the Woods,” “Pride” and “St Vincent”.

On the drama side, the best film con-tenders are: “Boyhood,” “Foxcatcher,” “The Imitation Game,” “Selma” and “The Theory of Everything.”

Barely 48 hours before the curtain goes up for the 72nd Globes ceremony, a website glitch appeared to suggest that “Selma” and “Into the Woods” could be set for best film honors.

The films were briefly posted on the Globes website as winning the best drama and best musical/comedy film awards, before the captions were taken down, according to industry journal Variety.

A spokesman said the films were chosen “randomly” from nominees’ lists as Web technicians fine-tuned the website ahead of the show, and that the captions should not have been live. (afp)

LOS ANGELES — Oscar nomi-nees in all 24 categories will hear their names announced live next week. Academy Awards producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said Friday they are launching a new tradition of revealing all Oscar contenders in a live news confer-ence. In past years, only the most popular categories were presented live, with the remainder announced in a news release.

Actor Chris Pine, directors JJ Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron, and film academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs will unveil the nomi-nees early Thursday at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Scienc-es’ headquarters in Beverly Hills, California. The announcement will stream live on Oscars.org.

The Academy Awards will be presented at the Dolby Theatre on Feb. 22. (ap)

Who says that Indonesian people can-not build a successful career overseas? Iwan Sunito, for instance, an evidence of the entrepreneur spending his childhood in Pangkalan Bun, Borneo was named the King of Property in Sydney, Australia. In the kangaroo country, he successfully established the Crown Group with the business partner Paul Sathio. Besides, he has also often built luxury buildings in Sydney since 20 years ago. As a man loving the culture of Indonesia, Iwan has a desire to expand the business of Crown International Holding Group in Indonesia. As planned, Iwan will choose Bali.

“I choose Bali because it is unique. This Paradise Island has special culture, art and customs. In addition, the hotel invest-ment in Bali poses an interesting challenge because we will compete to provide the best,” said the friendly man born in Sura-baya. This graduate of the architecture engineering from the University of New

South Wales, Australia, delivered that the resort to be built in Bali would belong to a five-star resort category. Although there had been many resorts in Bali, not many of them were super nice. On that account, the Crown Group would be present with a new color.

“We will build a resort in accordance with the customs and culture, including the architecture and the characteristic of Bali,” said the award recipient of The Best Residential Designer in Australia. Related to the phrase ‘Tourism Kills Tourism,’ Iwan gave comments that the tourism should not be let eliminate the tourism itself. Bali was a cultural tourism having the strength on the customs and culture. It should be affirmed to fortify Bali tourism from negative attacks. “I do not see tourism in terms of negative aspect. Everything will highly depend on the strength of the country to manage it,” he concluded. (ocha)

NEGARA - Apparently the clean river program (Prokasih) is not functioning at maximum capacity. A number of rivers, especially those near resettlements are still filthy and filled with garbage including a stream from the Lampah River that divides the Negara Public Market, Friday (Jan 9). The river’s banks are filled with garbage all the way down to the river.

Most of the waste consists of plastic and has kindled complaints from residents around the Satria neighborhood, Pendem village. Other than garbage, animal carcasses can also be found in the pile of garbage. Allegedly the garbage was acciden-tally dumped into the river. One of the residents living along the river, Andik Prasetyo, 30, said that the pile of garbage had stagnated in the river for four days. Aside from look-ing shabby, it also exuded a strong stench. Local residents also often smelt the stench that makes them uncomfortable.

According to residents, the gar-

bage stagnated because the floodgate was not opened. By and large, when the water was high, the floodgate is opened. The garbage was dragged downstream when it rained some time ago.

On the other hand, the hamlet chief of Satria, I Ketut Parwata, told report-ers that his party had no time to check the conditions of the river that passes through the Negara Public Market. According to him, it is a rain-fed river. So, when the water is stagnant, the garbage is left on the dried riverbed. When the river is filled with water, the floodgate are opened, and the subak downstream often complains because the garbage drifs into the subak irriga-tion channel.

The Head of Environment, Sani-tation and Landscaping Agency (LHKP) of Jembrana, I Wayan Darwin, said that his party would coordinate with relevant parties to resolve the issue. According to him, the floodgate falls under the author-ity of the Public Works Agency. (kmb26)

“Our investigation unit is in-tensifying the development of the case and collecting data about the offenders and the number of crime scenes involved,” said the Bali Police officer. As a result of examinations, the motorcycle gang members are known to be an association of students from several schools in Bali and even East Java. “Since they are still considered minors, we cannot give explicit information about them,” he said.

According to gang leader, Yp,

they have used the same method of robbing 31 people, namely by hampering the movement of the victims at each crime scene. These muggings took place 17 times in Denpasar, 9 times in Klungkung, twice in Gianyar, and 3 times in Tabanan “We are still hunting for the two other perpetrators from Klungkung, who have the initials Sg. and Jr. respectively” said the officer who requested anonymity.

As for the process of investi-gation, the band of robbers will

be detained for some time, as the investigators plan to deal with each crime scene, case by case. Trials will also be conducted for each crime scene, each requiring a separate verdict.

Police suspected that the mo-torcycle gang functioned as a syndicate, based on the division of roles within the gang that included thieves, distributors of stolen goods, and intermediaries. According to the suspect with initials G.S. from Karangasem, his role was to sell the goods as

DENPASAR – The sub-directorate of Crime and Violence Team 3, of the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Unit continues to develop the case of the Tokkek Liar (wild gecko) motorcycle gang (20 member). Initial results of the interrogation of gang leader, Yp, yielded his confess-ing to having committed 31 robberies in Denpasar, Klungkung, Gianyar and Tabanan. As of Saturday (Jan 10), police have arrested 11 members of the motorcycle gang, including Yp., and one member who was charged with selling the stolen goods.

directed by the perpetrator with the initial Dw. As a result, G.S. claims to have received the greatest por-tion namely IDR 125,000. Accord-ing to testimonies given by other suspects, G.S. received as much as IDR 10 million. However, G.S denied the truth of this statement.

Meanwhile, Director of the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Triono Basuki, said that the case will involve both the Crime and Violence Unit as well as the Women and Child Protection Unit (PPA), who conducted most of the examinations since most of the suspects are minors, However, the Crime and Violence Unit remains involved due to the violence in-volved in the thefts.

Triono hopes that the parents of the suspects could be summoned and asked to pay more attention to

their children. According to him, the incident was absolutely the fault of both children as well as their parents. On that account, this case should be handled by involv-ing all parties. “Let us not let other children in Bali be poisoned with this kind of crime,” he said.

The instructions of Bali Police Chief, Benny Mokalu, to crack down on motorcycle gangs was immediately followed up by the Sub-directorate of Crime and Vio-lence Team 3, Bali Police Criminal Investigation Unit. On Friday (Jan 9), the team raided the headquarters of the motorcycle gang on Jalan Tjokroaminoto Gang Swari, West Denpasar. Of the 20 members of the gang, police confiscated four perpetrators with the initials: Bg., 15, D.W., 15, A.P, 14, and D.K., 15 and gang leader Y.P,16. (kmb36)

Now, though, relatively new gadgets called selfie sticks make it easy to take your own wide-angled self-portraits or group shots. Fans say the expandable rods, which al-low users to hold their cellphones a few feet away, are the ultimate convenience: no more bothering passers-by to take pictures, no more fretting about strangers taking lousy shots or running off with a pricey iPhone.

But some travelers bemoan the loss of that small interaction that came with politely asking a local to help preserve a memory. And critics express outright hatred of selfie sticks as obnoxious symbols of self-absorption. They even have a derisive name for them, playing on

AP Photo/Kamran Jebreili

In this Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 photo, Rasul Alekberov holds a selfie stick next to his friend Gudrat Aghayev both tourists from Republic of Azerbaijan while they take a selfie in front of “Burj Khalifa”, world’s tallest tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Selfie sticks: Tourist convenience or purely narcissi-stick?

NEW YORK — Selfies at tourist attractions are nothing new. But until recently, if you wanted a perfectly composed picture of yourself with Times Square or the Colosseum in the background, you might have asked a passer-by to take the photo.

the narcissistic behavior they think the sticks encourage: narcissi-stick.

Sarah Kinling of Baltimore said she was approached “17 times” by vendors selling selfie sticks at the Colosseum in Rome. “They’re the new fanny pack — the quickest way to spot a tourist,” she said. “The more I saw them in use, the more I saw how much focus people were putting on selfies, and not turning around to see what they were there to see.”

When Kinling wanted a photo of herself with her sister and sister-in-law, she asked strangers to take the shot. “Even when the other person didn’t speak English, you hold your camera up and make the motion and they understand,” she said.

But some travelers say it’s better to stage your own vacation photos. Andrea Garcia asked a passer-by to take her photo in Egypt and later realized he’d zoomed in on her face, cutting out the pyramids behind her. “I couldn’t really be mad at him — he wasn’t my photographer, I didn’t pay him,” she said. The experience made her appreciate the selfie sticks she sees tourists using at 1 World Trade near her office in Lower Manhattan. “Take control of your image!” she says.

Selfie sticks are just starting to show up at attractions in the U.S., but they’re ubiquitous in many destinations overseas, from Dubai’s skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa, to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. A soccer sta-

dium in London, White Hart Lane, has even banned them because they obstruct other fans’ views.

The Four Seasons Hotel in Hous-ton started making them available to guests last week, “similar to the way many hotels provide umbrel-las,” said hotel spokeswoman Laura Pettitt.

The sticks range in price from $5 to $50. Simpler models merely grip the phone, so users must trigger the shot with a self-timer on the cam-era. More sophisticated versions either use Bluetooth technology or connect the phone to the stick with a cord, with a button on the grip triggering the shot.

Jasmine Brett Stringer of Min-neapolis writes a lifestyles blog called “Carpe Diem with Jasmine” and uses selfie sticks to record her videos. “A friend brought one back from Dubai and I said, ‘I’ve got to get one,’” she said. Now she doesn’t

have to rely on others to help shoot her work. The sticks are also an improvement over hand-held self-ies because they let you shoot “at better angles, avoid the awkward arm reach and the dreadful half-face shot.”

Megan Marrs of Boston, who writes a travel blog called Vanishing Balloons, thought the sticks were ridiculous when she saw them on a trip to South Korea last fall. “It seemed so vain and silly,” said Marrs. But she bought one to bring home as a gift, ended up trying it herself and became a fan.

“I don’t love intruding on other people’s experience, asking them to take my picture — they’re there to enjoy their time, too,” she said. “Sometimes I feel silly — one more tourist taking a selfie in front of the Colosseum — but I’m more com-fortable doing it myself than asking someone else.” (ap)

Senior figure of the royal palace, Cokorda Widiarsa Pemayun, said that local artists were alternately involved in the performance held once a month or every full moon at the Agung Soma Negara Palace, Pejeng. “It is an effort to empower the artists owned by Pejeng in the performing arts,” he said

In the show on Monday night (Jan 5), dozens of foreign travelers were amazed when watching the perfor-mance of classical arts like psalmody chanting, puppet, wayang wong (human puppet) and Kecak with the storyline entitled “the Death of Kumbakarna” by local artist troupe and SMP Santi Yoga junior high school Pejeng. “Such performance is routinely held every full moon with special mask show and Legong in accordance with the potential of Pejeng village,” he said.

Discovery of the potential and

preservation of the art and culture would be carried out at all villages in Gianyar County, so that it could be developed as a tourist attraction. To realize the idea, Gianyar government established a creative team having the task to discover and pack the potential of each village and realize it in the form of performance on an ongoing basis.

Meanwhile, the headman of Pejeng, Cok Agung Kusumayudha Pemayun, explained if the arts of Pejeng village had revived. As a result, it would be easier to bring in travelers to Pejeng village because Pejeng village was the crossing path of travelers visiting Batur, Kintamani. “It just needs to direct it. Hopefully, the tourism potential of Pejeng village can rise and become an attraction which has an impact on improving the people’s welfare,” he hoped. (kmb35)

AMLAPURA - Board mem-bers of the Indonesia Hotels and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Karangasem Chapter admitted to baffle. It was revealed by Chair-man of the PHRI Karangasem, Wayan Tama, and Secretary, Wayan Kariasa, in Karangasem responding to travel advice for the visit to Indonesia issued by Australia and the U.S. government a few days ago.

Tama and Kariasa admitted to worry if the tourist visits to Karangasem continued to decline. So far, Australian travelers domi-nated the visit to Karangasem. Meanwhile, European market was dominated by those from France. “Australian travelers generally consist of the elderly with the age of 40 years old or more, so that their length of stay is averagely long,” he said.

According to him, if the tour-ist visit to Karangasem declined, many parties would get difficul-

GIANYAR - Known to have many tourism potentials, either of nature, the art or ancient relics, does not necessarily make Pejeng village, Tampaksiring, into excellent tourist object of Gianyar. Even, as companion to Ubud tourist attraction, this old village has not been touched by tourism sector. In order to revive the hidden cultural heritages, every full moon or every month is performed a show entitled “Cultural Wonders of the Royal Pejeng Performance” at the Agung Soma Negara Palace, Pejeng.

ties, especially hoteliers. All this time, the hotel occupancy rate in Karangasem only reached the highest of 65 percent. And it only occurred during peak season or high season from July to August. Meanwhile, in low season the occupancy could only reach 60 percent. “Hotel occupancy rate in Karangasem never reaches 80 percent,” he said.

His party worried about the travel advice issued by Australian government as it had an impact on the reduction of Australian travel-ers visiting Indonesia, especially Bali, including Karangasem. Its citizens would fear, let alone the travel advice be related to terror-ism. The recovery of the image would take long time. Foreign citizens could only feel safe and comfortable when traveling to destination countries excluded in the travel advice or travel warning or it had been revoked. According to Tama, when travel advice had

been issued and citizens persisted on traveling to the countries in-cluded in the travel advice, the government would not recom-mend the payment of insurance claims if there was any risk. That

was why if the travel advice had been issued, for example, travel-ers would fear if they broke it because their insurance claims would not be paid in case of facing a risk. (013)

The U.S. has previously refused to cancel military drills with South Korea, even at times of high ten-sions, and has said the North must first demonstrate how sincere it is about nuclear disarmament before serious talks can resume.

The North’s reported proposal comes at a time of animosity be-tween North Korea and the U.S. over a Sony movie depicting the as-sassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The U.S. blames the North for crippling hacking attacks on Sony Entertainment and sub-sequently imposed new sanctions on the country, inviting an angry response from Pyongyang, which has denied responsibility for the cyberattacks.

The North’s official Korean

Central News Agency said the government proposed to the U.S. what it calls a “crucial step” to ease animosities and remove the danger of war, prompted by desires to pave the way for a reunification with South Korea this year, which marks the 70th anniversary of the rivals’ division.

The message “proposed the U.S. to contribute to easing tension on the Korean Peninsula by tempo-rarily suspending joint military exercises in South Korea and its vicinity this year, and said that in this case (North Korea) is ready to take such responsive step as tem-porarily suspending the nuclear test over which the U.S. is concerned,” KCNA’s report said.

“Now is the time for the U.S.

to make a bold decision for peace and stability on the Korean Pen-insula and in Northeast Asia,” it said. The message was conveyed to the U.S. on Friday through an unspecified relevant channel, KCNA said.

U.S. State Department spokes-woman Jen Psaki said Saturday that a new nuclear test would be a “clear violation of North Korea’s obliga-tions under multiple U.N. Security Council resolutions.”

“The DPRK statement that in-appropriately links routine (U.S.-South Korean) exercises to the possibility of a nuclear test by North Korea is an implicit threat,” she said, using the North’s official name, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.(ap)

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will host British Prime Minister David Cameron at the White House in the coming week. Their meeting follows the worst terrorist attack in France in decades. Seventeen people were slain in attacks on a satirical news-paper, police and a kosher super-market during a three-day spree across Paris.

The White House says the lead-ers will share a working dinner on

Thursday, and then meet in the Oval Office on Friday to discuss a range of issues, from economic growth and international trade to the rise of Islamic militants and Russia’s actions in Ukraine.

Cameron is among world lead-ers planning to attend a mass anti-terrorism rally Sunday in Paris. Attorney General Eric Holder is attending a separate Paris meeting on fighting terror-ism.(ap)

TEHRAN, Iran — An Iranian parliament session descended into chaos Sunday as several hard-line lawmakers disrupted a speech by a moderate colleague criticizing the long-term house arrest of two op-position leaders.

Parliamentarian Ali Motahari was speaking out in an open ses-sion on the detention orders against Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mahdi Karroubi. The pair have been held under house arrest without charges since 2011 over their role in the widespread protests that followed the 2009 presidential elections.

“Continuation of the house arrest without judicial verdict is a viola-tion of the constitution. I consider it harmful (to the country),” Motahari told the house.

Several hard-line lawmakers then walked to the podium shout-ing, “death to seditionists” and “death to hypocrites,” and pre-vented Motahari from continuing his speech. Parliamentary security ordered journalists out of the cham-ber and vice-speaker Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard adjourned the session; it was resumed 25 minutes later. Before adjourning, Aboutorabi-Fard publicly criticized Motahari for his comments.

“Continuation of your speech doesn’t serve (the country’s) inter-ests,” he said. “Maximum Islamic mercy has been applied to these individuals. If it was not due to the will of the (ruling) system to show mercy, the case definitely would have been different.”(ap)

North Korea hints at nuclear test moratorium

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea has told the United States that it is willing to impose a temporary moratorium on its nuclear tests if Washington scraps planned military drills with South Korea this year, the North’s official news agency said Saturday. Washington called the linking of the military drills with a possible nuclear test “an implicit threat,” but said it was open to dialogue with North Korea.

Wulan has also empoweres local people by involving them in the making of sokasi for her business. Her sokasi product is very simple, yet has great value, ranging in price from from IDR 25,000 to IDR 200,000. Most surprisingly, other than being used for carrying ritual oblations to temple, her sokasi products are also sold in art shops around Gianyar and Kuta. To add to this success story, her sokasi prod-ucts have also drawn the interest of buyers from foreign countries, such as Germany.

Wulan sells about 1,000 units of sokasi per month. The high volume of her sales very much depends on existing orders. When asked about her turnover rate, she says that is it reasonable, garnering IDR 10 million worth of sales per month. (sos)

SINGARAJA – Spontaneous markets, popping up in the area just west of Banyusari Terminal Singaraja, have already received the attention of member of Commission III of the Buleleng House for the crowding they cause, but especially for the fish waste left behind which has been complained about by nearby residents.

Other than generating odor-ous waste, the spontaneous mar-ket also has a negative impact on the number of visitors shopping at Banyuasri Market, located not far from the impromptu market.

To ensure that environmen-tal and economic conditions are suitable for all involved, Commission III of the Buleleng

House came down to monitor the market situation and meet with traders at Banyuasri Mar-ket, Wednesday (Jan 7). The entourage of the Commission III was led by Chairperson Putri Nareni and her members and accompanied by the direc-tors of PD Pasar Buleleng and coordinator of the Banyuasri Market.

At the location of the im-promptu market, they found that the sanitation of the neigh-borhood was poorly managed, especially fish waste, which was thrown into the drains on Jalan Samudra, Singaraja. Since the drain is shallow, the waste does not flow well, and so the stench spreads everywhere. Many resi-dents and shop owners on Jalan

Samudra have complained. Residents often witness fish traders disposing of their waste into the drains. After the market was closed, there is an officer who sprays the residue of the waste into the road.

But since the drain is shallow, “When sprayed, the stench can be eliminated, but the waste inside the drain cannot flow smoothly, so that the smell spreads everywhere and this situation can disrupt our envi-ronment here,” said one of the shop owners.

Responding to the complaints of shop owners in the neighbor-hood of the impromptu market, Chairperson of the Commission III, Putri Nareni, said that the PD Pasar Buleleng, together

with other agencies should conduct environmental man-agement and sanitation of the market area in order to make it more comfortable and minimize the impact of pollution disturb-ing the residents nearby. She pointed out that maintenance should be done by taking care of the drain where traders dumped their waste, so that it could flow more rapidly thus reducing the stench. “Now, we ask the market operator to think about how to make the environmental condi-tion better,” she said.

Aside from the matter of waste, added Nareni, the activi-ties of traders at the impromptu market has another impact as well. Those selling their wares at the Banyuasri Market com-

plain about a decline in buyers. Since the impromptu market was opened, more people are shopping there because many of the sellers who previously had stalls at Banyusari Market have started selling at the improvised market, because they don’t have to pay for their stall.

“I think it is important to find the best solution for this issue. So that the original market does not go bankrupt and so that regulations are set up so that everyone can benefit equally.”

During the visit, the Commis-sion III found under-maintained kiosks at Banyuasri Market, a number of which clearly re-quire renovation so render them safe for traders and shoppers. (kmb38)

BANGLI - Bamboo webbing such as sokasi or oblation basket are never out of style. From time to time, the sokasi craft motifs change but always retains a a Balinese aesthetic. This can be seen in Tanggahan Peken hamlet, Sulahan Susut., where the business of sokasi craft is growing rapidly after having been initiated 10 years ago by the family of Nengah Wulan. The sokasi craft produced here, ranges from unusual motifs to elaborate traditional ones using gold leaf paint, from very small to very large.

BUSINESS

NEW YORK - Talk of $40-a-barrel oil picked up pace Friday as crude prices fell again, to their lowest point since April 2009. The US benchmark, WTI crude for February delivery, lost 43 cents to end at $48.36 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

In London, the Brent benchmark for February finished off 85 cents at $50.11, after falling as low as $48.90 early in the day. The market got no boost from the US December jobs report, with good job cre-ation numbers and a fall in the unemploy-ment rate to 5.6 percent offset somewhat by a fall in wages, which some analysts interpreted as meaning little momentum for consumer spending.

In addition, German data showed slid-ing industrial output and exports, suggest-ing the eurozone’s largest economy is still in a weak patch.

“The move below $50 (for Brent) shows how momentum is everything here,” CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson told AFP.

“With no sign that OPEC will do anything about overproduction, it seems likely that we could well see further de-clines towards $40 in the coming weeks -- particularly given that demand shows no signs of picking up.”

Mining and minerals industry con-sultant Wood Mackenzie said in a report that it would take a fall below $40 a barrel to force a significant amount of global production offline -- which would strengthen prices.

“A Brent price of $40 a barrel or below would see producers shutting in production at a level where there is a significant reduction of global supply,” they said. (afp)

In the wake of the hostage crisis and massacre, “Je Suis Charlie” (I Am Charlie) has become a rallying cry, chanted in solidarity with the victims and tweeted millions of times as a hashtag.

But there have also been those apparently seeking to profit, offer-ing stickers, mugs, hats -- you name it -- with the “Je Suis Charlie” logo for sale.

Some have promised not to take advantage and donate their share of commissions, including to Charlie Hebdo, the Paris satirical newspa-

per attacked by Islamist gunmen on Wednesday.

Amazon’s French site, Amazon.fr, has pledged to do just that, with “Je Suis Charlie” stickers among its top sellers in their category. Some such stickers are listed for as much as 14.99 euros ($18).

A black kitchen apron with “Je Suis Charlie” written in white was on sale for 25.50 euros -- one size fits all, made of 65 percent polyester and 35 percent cotton.

“Amazon.fr will transfer com-missions that would be received

on the sale of products proposed on its marketplace by third-party merchants using ‘Je Suis Charlie’ to Charlie Hebdo magazine,” the company said.

It also pledged to pull from its site products that violate its rules.

eBay, where copies of issues of the weekly were drawing bids of more than 70,000 euros within hours after Wednesday’s attack on the paper, has promised to do the same.

Other products being sold on eBay included “Je Suis Charlie”

badges, mugs and keychains at the price of a few euros or more.

A number of sites pulled prod-ucts from their online stores after criticism from Internet users.

“Shame on you for taking the Charlie Hebdo pain and drama and selling ‘Je Suis Charlie’ products!” one person posted on the Facebook page of Spreadshirt, an online plat-form for t-shirt sales.

The company said it did not in-tend to profit from the crisis.

“We have checked one-by-one each of our partners’ e-stores and each of the designs ... to assure ourselves that no commission is taken on the sale of ‘Je Suis Char-lie’ products,” the company wrote

on its blog. “Spreadshirt is not accepting any

commission.”A number of individual sellers

on such sites have also said they were not aiming to profit despite the prices involved.

On eBay, a seller identified as B.b.r argued that a t-shirt with a bloodied map of France and the “Je Suis Charlie” logo for 13.60 euros was selling at cost.

The creator of the site onatu-echarlie.com (Charlie was killed), which sells two t-shirts with the logo, said he plans to transfer 50 percent of the profits to the French Association for Victims of Terror-ism. (afp)

From shirts to aprons, ‘Je Suis Charlie’ sells online

PARIS - Products with the “Je Suis Charlie” logo, from t-shirts to kitchen aprons, are being sold widely online, presenting a moral quandary for ecommerce stores after this week’s deadly attacks in Paris.

Men work on an oil pump during a sandstorm that blew in Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, in the desert oil fields of Sakhir, Bahrain. Talk of $40-a-barrel oil picked up pace Friday as crude prices fell again, to their lowest point since April 2009. The US benchmark, WTI crude for February delivery, lost 43 cents to end at $48.36 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

In later development, the com-pote is commonly sold in stalls and even often served at hotel for tourists. This traditional cake can function as dessert after enjoying the main course. Its ingredients are very easy to obtain because it is made from fruits growing at our surroundings.

This kind of refreshment is also used as a means of ritual oblation of Hindu community, precisely during the cremation ceremony. However, its name is olek-olek dedicated to the Atma (individual soul) to be pu-

rified. It is made from various fruits such as pumpkin, bananas, sweet potatoes, cassava and breadfruits.

Well, all the ingredients can be used to prepare the compote. However, they must be added with brown sugar, salt and coconut milk. To make it more interesting, please add sago pearl and gelatin to make it more delicious. Children are often combining the compote with ice and white sugar, so it tastes cooler.

How to prepare it? First of all, prepare the ingredients such as steamed bananas. Then, cut it into

smaller pieces and make a sauce by water and brown sugar. Boil the sugar finely until boiling and then added with tapioca flour. While stir-ring, add salt and fragrant pandan leaves. Stir it until getting blended and put banana or other ingredients into the sugar sauce until cooked.

Afterwards, the compote is ready to be served. Put the compote in a bowl and then add sago pearl and gelatin. Optionally, you can add ice cubes. Ultimately, pour coconut milk and white sugar. Now, it is ready to taste. (kmb)

Do you believe it? Otherwise, at least it needs a reading. You must definitely know about the Taman Ayun tourist attraction. Although you have never visited it, at least you have ever read or heard about it that has been included in the world cultural heritage by the UNESCO. In addition to having a strong aura, it also poses a blend of culture and history with a unique story.

In addition, there is also some-thing unique that can be considered ‘a warning.’ Local people believe that the newlywed couples and pregnant women must avoid pass-ing through the area of Taman Ayun.

A local attendant of the tourist attraction, I Made Suandi, said that from the past the object had a unique story developing in the community that remained to be believed by people. The new bride was not going through the temple area. As alternative, they usually take another path, so they do not pass through the temple area.

Once upon a time, there was also a new bride just getting down from a car far before entering the tem-ple area. Afterward, they walked through the path in the south of the temple. Meanwhile, the family or the escorts following the bride convoy could pass through the road and waited on the street across the temple area.

Pregnant women were also ab-staining from passing on the main road of the temple. According to local belief, those who violated the taboos would get abortion. As well, the brides who forced themselves to

go that way their marriage would not last longer. “Public still believe it until now,” said Suandi.

Similar opinion was also de-livered by Jro Mangku I Made Niksana, 71, a former headman of Mengwi village. Such a belief had existed since the road first established. Although no one knew about its truth for sure, the Hindu community in Bali still believes. “Under the existing road, there is a tunnel believed to be haunted,” said Jro Mangku.

The Taman Ayun is located at Mengwi village, Mengwi, Badung County, or about 18 km northwest of Denpasar. It will take you about 25 minute’s drive. Public transpor-tation also passes from the morning until late afternoon on the Denpasar - Singaraja road section.

Taman Ayun Temple has very old age of about 400 years. The value is reflected in every corner of the noble exotica describes the architect who understands about the beauty and harmony of life. As mentioned, it belongs to the environment of Taman Ayun royal neighborhood.

The temple compound is sur-rounded by a pool embellished with colorful lotus flowers. Meanwhile, the Taman Ayun Temple neighbor-hood is also divided into three courtyards and covered by some green plants and grasses arranged neatly. Water of the pool should not be turned away, as it is believed to result in wasteful society. “If it looks to half diminish, local villag-ers usually immediately work to-gether to refill it,” he said. The dead victims are three adults and a child. All the victims have been taken to the Bogor PMI hos-pital. “They died apparently be-cause they sustained brain injury,” he said.

According to the police in-vestigation, the incident is pure natural disaster. The eight-meter

tall tree with a 1.5-meter diameter was rotten and eventually broke hitting visitors sitting underneath the tree.

The three adult victims who were killed in the incident were employees of PT ASALTA Mandiri Agung Nanggewer. The company was holding a family gathering

on Sunday morning in the Bogor Botanical Garden.

“When the tree fell, the victims were sitting inside a tent underneath the tree,” Viktor added.

To anticipate possible incident in the future, the police put police line up to 500 meters from the loca-tion. (ant)

PANGKALAN BUN - Indonesian authorities said Sunday strong signals were emanating from the crucial black box recorders of an AirAsia plane that crashed into the sea two weeks ago, killing all 162 people on board.

Military divers were trying to follow the pings to the boxes, believed to be on the floor of the Java Sea about 30 metres (100 feet) underwater, S.B Supriyadi, a director with the National Search and Rescue Agency told AFP.

The hunt came after the mangled tail of the Airbus jet was lifted from the sea on Saturday.

“The ping was detected about one kilometre (0.6 miles) east of the tail,” Supriyadi told AFP at the search headquarters of Panglakun Bun.

The Indonesian meteorological agency has said stormy weather likely caused the Airbus A320-200 to crash.

But a definitive answer is impossible without the black boxes, which should contain the pilots’ final words as well as various flight data.

Supriyadi and other officials involved in the search said they were confident the pings were from the black boxes, describing the signals as strong.

Supriyadi said an object believed to be the main body of the plane had also been detected close to the area from where the pings were emanating.

“We are now trying to check by sending our divers,” he added.

The search efforts, which have involved US, Chinese and other foreign naval ships, has recov-ered just 48 bodies.

Supriyadi said many of the bodies were be-lieved to be trapped in the cabin, so reaching that part of the wreckage was also a top priority.

All but seven of those on board were Indo-nesian.

The non-Indonesians were three South Kore-ans, one Singaporean, one Malaysian, one Briton and a Frenchman -- co-pilot Remi Plesel. (afp)

JAKARTA - The police’s anti-terrorist squad, Densus 88, ar-rested five fugitive terrorist suspects linked to the East Indonesia Muja-hideen (MIT) group led by Santoso on Saturday.

“The five suspects have been put on the wanted list according to their respective role,” head of the public relations division of the National Police Headquarters Insp. Gen. Ronny F. Sompie said in a short message text on Saturday.

One of the suspects, identified by his initials as IS, was arrested at Bungadidi village, North Luwu dis-trict, South Sulawesi, on Saturday at 10.15 local time.

“When the team was chasing the suspect in a plantation, he resisted arrest. He was embroiled in a shoo-

tout with the team which left him dead,” he said.

IS was believed to have played a role in financing the Santoso-led terrorist group. “He also knew the hideouts of fugitive terrorist sus-pects,” he said.

The anti-terrorist squad also seized a pistol, five bullets, a mobile phone and a folding knife from the suspect.

The other suspects are identified by their initials as SJ, R, H and R.

SJ was arrested on Jalan Pulau Sabang, Central Sulawesi, at 11.30 local time and R was arrested on Jalan Mentawai also in Central Sulawesi at 12.15 local time.

Both H and R were arrested in front of state junior high school SMP 4 Poso at 14.15 local time, he said. (ant)

In this photo taken from an Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter, the tail part of AirAsia Flight 8501 is seen on the deck of rescue ship Crest Onyx as it is transported to Pangkalan Bun in Central Borneo, on the Java Sea, Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. Indonesian authorities said Sunday strong signals were emanating from the crucial black box recorders of an AirAsia plane that crashed into the sea two weeks ago, killing all 162 people on board.

The demonstration of mostly young men reached a peak of about 1,500 in downtown Port-au-Prince as protesters called for the departure of President Michel Martelly, who took office in May 2011 and is due to leave next year. Police fired tear gas and sprayed water from an armored vehicle, scattering the crowd at a plaza close to where the National Palace stood before it collapsed in Haiti’s 2010 earthquake.

There has been no letup in rau-cous protests since last month’s resignation of Martelly’s prime minister, Laurent Lamothe, and other concessions aimed at re-solving the stalemate holding up legislative elections. A presiden-tial commission had called for Lamothe’s resignation, among other steps, to resolve the grid-lock that has sparked protests.

Riche Clebert, a snack ven-

dor who did not participate in the demonstration, said he has grown exhausted with the cycle of political protests, which often end with violence near the old National Palace site. “I have three children to feed and I have lost all patience with this. This is not leading our country anywhere,” Clebert said as he clutched his tray of sugary breads and watched dozens of young men running from billowing clouds of tear gas.

After fleeing a blast from a water cannon, protester Jean Junior said Martelly had to go. “Haiti cannot continue like this because the population has not benefited from this government,” he said.

Haiti faces an uncertain po-litical future in coming days with the terms of all members of both legislative houses expiring

Monday, exactly five years after a devastating earthquake struck the nation of 10 million people. If a last-minute agreement isn’t reached through negotiations with political opponents, Mar-telly will rule by decree starting next week.

Martelly was supposed to call elections in 2011 for a majority of Senate seats, the entire Cham-ber of Deputies and local offices. But opposition lawmakers have used parliamentary procedure to prevent the ballots while accus-ing the president of abusing his authority to appoint supporters to the electoral council.

The country has faced mount-ing pressure from the U.N., U.S. and others to organize a vote before Parliament is dissolved, but recent talks between Martelly and senators have not solved the problem.(ap)

BERLIN — Police in Ger-many have detained two men suspected of an arson attack early Sunday against a newspaper that republished the cartoons of French weekly Charlie Hebdo. The newspaper Hamburger Mor-genpost said on its website the overnight arson attack destroyed several files in its archive, but didn’t injure anyone.

Hamburg police said it had detained the two young men near the newspaper building. Police spokeswoman Karina Sadowsky told The Associated Press several stones and a Molotov cocktail were found in the newspaper’s archive in the basement of the building.

She didn’t identify or give any further details about the suspects. A spokesman for the Hamburg

fire department said they were first alerted when a security company called them after the building’s fire alarms went off, shortly after 2 a.m.

“We quickly managed to extin-guish the fire,” spokesman Joern Bartsch said. The Hamburg tabloid newspaper published the Charlie Hebdo cartoons the day after the attack against the newspaper in Paris to express its solidarity with the slain journalists.

Several other national and local German newspapers also published the cartoons. They are now getting police protection. German Interior Minister Thom-as de Maiziere on Sunday called on all citizens to be vigilant in their everyday lives in response to the attacks in neighboring France.(ap)

The Bulls were coming off a pair of bad losses to Utah and Washing-ton, when they shot a combined 36 percent from the field. They weren’t much better against Milwaukee, finishing at 40 percent (35 for 88), but Gasol’s big performance was enough to hold off the Bucks.

Gasol helped the Bulls close it out in the final period. He had a driving layup that made it 87-75 with 4:01 remaining. He finished with four straight free throws, surpassing his previous career best of 44 points for Memphis against Seattle on March 28, 2006. Bran-don Knight scored 20 points for

Milwaukee, which had won its last five road games.

Charlotte’s Kemba Walker scored 28 points as the Hornets downed New York 110-82 to ex-tend the Knicks’ losing streak to 15 games. Charlotte won its fifth in a row and did it so easily that Walker played only three quarters. Bismack Biyombo added 14 points, tying a career high, and 12 rebounds for the Hornets.

At Los Angeles, Blake Griffin scored 22 points, and Chris Paul had 17 points and 13 assists as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Dal-las Mavericks 120-100 for its sixth

win in eight games and second in a row.

Jamal Crawford added 19 points, Matt Barnes had 18 points, J.J. Redick 16, and DeAndre Jordan had 13 points and 15 rebounds in the Clippers’ eighth win in their last 11 games against the Mavericks. Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and Monta Ellis had 15 of his 23 in the first half for Dallas.

The San Antonio Spurs handed the Minnesota Timberwolves their 15th straight loss 108-93 after Austin Daye scored a season-high 22 points and had 10 rebounds. (ap)

Agnieszka Radwanska showed why she should be considered among the favourites for the Aus-tralian Open later this month by beating world number one Serena Williams and helping Poland to its first Hopman Cup title in Perth on Saturday. World number five Radwanska claimed a 6-4 6-7(3) 6-1 win to put her country 1-0 up against the United States and returned to partner Jerzy Janowicz and beat Williams and John Isner 7-5 6-3 in doubles as Poland be-came the 13th nation to win the mixed team event.

Isner had overcome Janowicz 7-6(10) 6-4 in the other singles to haul the U.S. back into the contest. “When I go and play against her, you have nothing re-ally to lose, she is number one in the world and a great champion,” Radwanska told reporters of her singles victory.

“It doesn’t matter what the score is. It’s never over, she’s a great fighter. I’m just very happy that I could come back after that second set and play my good game in the third set. “Wins like this always give a lot of confidence.” Radwan-ska’s first victory over Williams in nine meetings comes after she signed up former American great

Martina Navratilova as a coach.Williams, who also lost to Eug-

enie Bouchard of Canada earlier this week in the round robin, could have done with some advice from the 18-times grand slam singles champion after struggling in the opening set.

The American’s forehand was particularly troublesome, contrib-uting to many of her 28 unforced errors as she was broken twice early on to fall 4-1 behind before losing out 6-4.

The second went with serve as Radwanska pushed and pulled Williams around the court, with the powerful American retaliating by bludgeoning some heavy winners in an even contest.

The Pole, a semi-finalist at the Australian Open last year, then broke Williams to go 6-5 up and serve for the match but she was unable to put the American down as the world number one broke back to force a tiebreak that she took 7-3.

However, that was as good as it got for Williams, who will be seeking a 19th grand slam title in Australia, as she collapsed in the third to allow Radwanska to claim the moral boosting win. The Aus-tralian Open begins in Melbourne on Jan. 19. (rtr)

CHICAGO — Pau Gasol had a career-high 46 points to go along with 18 rebounds as the Chicago Bulls bounced back from two ugly losses with a 95-87 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. Gasol was 17 for 30 from the field and 12 for 13 at the line. in Tegallalang, Gianyar, does not only offer beautiful and cool at-mosphere, but also keeps a strong indigenous wisdom. Most of the residents work as a sculptor, spe-cializing in the making of Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) or literally golden eagle bird mounted by Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Pakudui village

is often dubbed as ‘Garuda Village’ of Bali.

Location of Pakudui village is not far from the Ceking rice terrace tourist attraction that has been fa-mous for the uniqueness in the form of terracing system. To reach the location, it takes about 60 minutes with a distance of approximately 50 km from Denpasar City.

Apparently, the name is not ex-cessive because the beautiful village with a population of 116 families is able to improve their life by making a statue. At this village, visitors can see in person the making of GWK sculptures. Children, teenagers, housewives or parents are capable of undertaking the works.

When passing through the road of

this cool village, we will never get bored. The society is friendly and always looks optimistic. Each house passed through is always busy with the activities of making sculptures. They can express their ideas through various sculptures on a piece of wood with the help of a chisel.

Size of the statue varied. They could have the height of 2 meters, 1

meter, 60 cm, 50 cm and 30 cm. The wood in use was specially brought in from various regions in Bali and even from Java. Interestingly, they never marketed the statues to outside the region. However, the buyers themselves came directly. They were mostly foreigners such as from Thailand, Japan, United States and Europe.

Bale made it 2-0 in the 28th when Espanyol goalkeeper Kiko Casilla could only watch as he rifled a left-foot free kick in off the post. Madrid played with 10 men from the 53rd after Fabio Coentrao got a direct red card for a low tackle on Jose Canas. The difference, however, was unnoticeable and substitute Na-cho Fernandez netted in the 76th with Espanyol in disarray.

Bale had a great chance to score before Fernandez’s goal when he sprinted onto Francisco “Isco” Alarcon’s thoughball. But the winger drew both the reproach of some sectors of the stands and Ronaldo’s ire when he didn’t pass to his strike partner, instead rolling the ball

PARIS — Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc lambasted his players for not respecting Bastia, after blowing a 2-0 lead in a 4-2 loss to the Corsican side in the French league on Saturday. PSG dropped to fourth in the standings, after having the chance to move level at the top with Marseille. Blanc’s side looked well set after scoring twice inside 20 minutes. But its defensive frailties were yet again exposed as Bastia roared back to level before halftime.

“We eased up in terms of our concentration and our rigor. The team forgot certain things, let certain things go in the last five minutes of the first half,” Blanc said. “Maybe we thought the match was easy. You have to respect these teams. We showed a lack of respect toward this Bastia team after the first 35 minutes and they made us pay.”

Star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is still struggling for fitness since returning from a troublesome heel injury and has scored only once in his past four games, was stunned by the defeat. “We played well for the first 20 minutes and then something happened which has never happened to me before,” the burly forward said. “I mean, winning 2-0 and losing 4-2,

I’ve never experienced that. We need to wake up.”

PSG has failed to win any of its past three league games, losing two and drawing one. It remains three points behind Marseille, and — under the concerned gaze of club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi — this latest sloppy performance increases the pressure on Blanc ahead of Tuesday’s League Cup quarterfinal at Saint-Etienne. “Yes, we were complacent at times,” Blanc said. “You get taught a good lesson when you don’t do things properly.”

To make matters worse, Saint-Etienne’s 2-1 win at Reims saw it leapfrog over PSG and into third place. Saint-Etienne moved to two points behind Marseille, level with Lyon, which has a better goal differ-ence and can move to the top of the league if it beats Toulouse at home on Sunday.

Saint-Etienne’s goals came either side of halftime from wingers Yohan Mollo and Romain Hamouma. Before the winter break, Blanc lamented his team’s lack of aggression, particularly when defending set-pieces — and two of the goals conceded came from corners and two stemmed from crosses. “Conceding four goals is inexplicable,” Blanc said.(ap)

LONDON - New Crystal Pal-ace coach Alan Pardew cel-ebrated an emotional return to Selhurst Park on Saturday as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 before he helped orchestrate the fans booming out their “Glad All Over” anthem. Former Palace player Pardew may be just as glad his troubled reign at Newcastle United is all over as he was greeted “home” by a home crowd who had plenty to celebrate at the end of his first Premier League game as the club’s manager.

After Tottenham striker Harry Kane struck his 18th

goal of the season to give the visitors the lead in the 49th minute, Palace came storming back to win with a Dwight Gayle pen-

alty after 69 minutes and an 80th minute

Jason Puncheon

strike. The result lifted Palace to 15th as they moved out of the relegation zone and prevented Spurs jumping into the top four, but the focus was on Pardew just as much as on his players.

In his first game in charge last week Palace beat non-League Dover Athlet ic 4-0 away in the FA Cup but this was an altogether different challenge against in-form Spurs who had beaten leaders Chelsea 5-3 in their last league match on New Year’s Day.

Tottenham looked set to extend their unbeaten run in all matches to eight games but at the end it was Pardew and not his opoosite number Mauricio Pochettino who was punching the air in delight as Palace won for the first time in nine league matches.

Pardew told reporters the first text message he received after the game was from his former boss,

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, who congratu-

lated him on “a great result”.“It’s emotional. To walk out

as an ex-player as the manager makes me very proud. Terry Ve-nables, Malcolm Allison, Steve Coppell are among the fabulous names who have coached here and one day I hope my name is put in there amongst them. “But this is one game, one small step, and a swallow does not make a summer, but it’s a great start.

“Spurs dominated the first 20 minutes and it was tough, but the penalty was the turning point,” Pardew said referring to a spot kick that Pochettino thought was harshly awarded against Benja-min Stambouli for a tackle on Joe Ledley.

“The one criticism I would make of my team is that I think we are too honest, too straight and we need to take more chances and be more maverick. It’s a question of getting the balance right, but at least we made a great start today,” he added.(rtr)

CANBERRA, Australia — Ahmed Khalil and Ali Mabkhout scored two goals each as the United Arab United Arab Emir-ates took advantage of a series of goalkeeping errors to beat Qatar 4-1 in the Group C opener Sunday at the Asian Cup. Qatar goalkeeper Qasem Burhan was at least partially responsible for three goals in a blundering

opener for the 2014 Gulf Cup champions.

Despite the gifts, the UAE fully deserved the win and started well with Khalil and Mabkhout both shooting wide from close range in the opening 10 minutes.

It was Qatar, however, which took the lead midway through the first half. Majed Naser blocked an initial shot from Mohammed

Muntari but Khalfan Ibrahim, positioned on the edge of the area, chested the ball down and lobbed it back beautifully over the head of the retreating UAE goalkeeper.

That was as good as it got for Qatar, tipped by many as poten-tial contender at this tournament. The UAE equalized nine minutes before the break when Qasem

spilled a cross and, after a scram-ble in a crowded area, a defensive goal-line clearance from a Khalil header bounced off the striker’s chest and into the net.

Khalil’s free kick early in the second half deceived Qasem and bounced into the far corner of the Qatari goal. Another set piece ended the game as a contest.

Khamis Esmaeel’s well-struck

free kick was parried by the Qa-tari goalkeeper into the path of Mabkhout, who scored into an empty net from close range. The striker added another goal in the 89th, ensuring the UAE scored four goals in an Asian Cup game for the first time. The UAE squad remains in Canberra to take on Bahrain on Thursday, when Qatar plays Iran in Sydney.(ap)

MELBOURNE - Australia captain Mile Jedinak has been ruled out of Tuesday’s Asian Cup clash with Oman after suffering an ankle injury in the Socceroos’ 4-1 win over Kuwait on Friday.

“We’ve decided to rule Mile out of the Oman game after he copped an ankle injury against Kuwait,” coach Ange Posteco-glou said in a s tatement on Sunday.

“He’s not quite right to play and at this stage of the tourna-ment we are better to give it a few days extra rest and we will re-assess where he’s at for the game against Korea Republic.”(rtr)

19. (rtr)

in Tegallalang, Gianyar, does not only offer beautiful and cool at-mosphere, but also keeps a strong indigenous wisdom.

(afp)

Talk of $40-a-barrel oil picked up pace Friday as crude prices fell again, to their lowest point since April 2009.

The U.S. has previously refused to cancel military drills with South Korea, even at times of high ten-sions, and has said the North must first demonstrate how sincere it is about nuclear disarmament before serious talks can resume.

(kmb36)

Earlier, former Regent of Ta-banan claimed will not form a special committee because the problem on reclamation of Benoa Bay was considered not urgent. But

Previously, Walhi also have done several things, including submitting

(afp)
