“Intention is the beginning of action.” The intention God has place on my heart is for every person to know the Good News of the Gospel! I have been especially drawn to invest in young college women to know the love of their Heavenly Father. My calling to join the Navigators’ staff at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln humbles me. There is a complete awe and appreciation in my heart for the blessing of God’s love as He pursues me. God has taken my brokenness to beautiful and this gives me a passion for Him to use my life as a laborer on campus over the next year.

My intention for sending you this newsletter is in hope that it encourages you! Simply, that it can bring a smile to your face and fill your heart with joy. College is a place that desperately needs the light of God’s love and it is exciting to know that the “Good News” is still alive in the hearts of many young people in college. In the next pages, I want to share with you all that The Navigators ministry has been doing through God over this past year and more about my specific calling to join the staff team and how He has already been able to use my life on campus.

My prayer is that you would, pray! Pray for the students on campus, pray for the

On a cold rainy night in December 2013 I arrived at the “Noodles and Company” restaurant to meet with a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Navigators staff woman. I can never thank Lisa enough for allowing me to pour my heart out to her when I did not know whom else to turn too. The best expression of love is time. The best time to love is now.” –Rick Warren“The best use of life is love.

The reality of the world we live in is that we are always just one generation away from the message of the Gospel becoming extinct. Sharing from generation to generation is what keeps the word alive! What a delight it is to be able to pass the same love of Christ that Lisa gave me to others.

My heart longs for all to know the love of our Heavenly Father and I have never seen the need on the college campus to be more evident. Often I feel that many freshmen at a big university feel totally overwhelmed and forgotten. This can lead into a downward spiral of looking for love in all the wrong places. The Gospel is the remedy. Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we can live in the freedom of forgiveness that only His love can bring.

Light will always overcome darkness. Campus ministry is such a crucial component for students to participate in to create light in the darkness of typical college behaviors. The Navigators mission is “to know Christ and make Christ known”. This non-denominational organization allows students the access to tools that they can use to create a firm foundation in having a relationship with Christ. Campus events, evangelism outreaches, and workshops are coordinated by The Navigators each semester. Worship nights occur twice every week providing multiple options for students to attend. Another main component is mentoring students through one-on-one discipleship and initiating Bible studies in the dorms and Greek houses. The ministry provides opportunities for leadership and a community to connect with and become a light of His love together.

"Giving and service mark the path to a world in which we are no longer strangers and alone, but members of a vast yet tightly knit family. "From everyone to whom much is given, much shall be required" is the biblical

admonition at the heart of the good life." --Thrive by Arianna Huffington, pg. 233

My prayer is that God sparks a desire in your heart to be a part of the vast but tight

knit family by joining my support team.  First praying for students to know Christ

on campus and then acknowledging that being a part of the body of Christ He has

gifted us accordingly to serve Him. Some people are called to give and some people

are called to go; nevertheless, they are both of equal importance when it comes to

building the Kingdom of Christ on earth.
