GRADING GRID

Grading criteria To achieve a pass grade the evidence must show that the learner is able to:

To achieve a merit grade the evidence must show that, in addition to the pass criteria, the learner is able to:

To achieve a distinction grade the evidence must show that, in addition to the pass and merit criteria, the learner is able to:

P1 describe, using examples, reasons why hardware systems may require the installation of new hardware components and note potential implications

P2 identify potential health and safety risks prior to the installation of hardware components

P3 prepare for specified installations

P4 install hardware components safely and test functionality

P5 follow required procedures to document installation.

M1 describe the implications of the hardware component installations they have carried out

M2 install a hardware component that requires associated software and configure to meet the needs of an end user

M3 explain the stages of an installation process.

D1 identify, using examples, the risks to an organisation arising from the installation of new hardware components and explain ways of minimising each one

D2 analyse the potential problems which may occur during the installation of hardware components and suggest possible solutions.
