Who are we?
EdAid is a non governmental child centered community development
organization dedicated to cooperating with communities and schools to
facilitate the process of providing adequate resources to create life long
learners.
Our Vision

Our vision is a world in which all children realize their full potential in societies
which respect peoples rights and dignity.
Our Mission
EdAid strives to achieve lasting improvement in the quality
of life of deprived children in developing countries through
a process that unites people across cultures and adds
meaning and value to their lives by:
• Cooperating with communities and schools to facilitate the
process of providing adequate resource to create lifelong
learners.
• Stimulating University students awareness of their roles in
enriching their societies.
• Building relationships to increase understanding and unity
among people of different cultures and countries.
EdAid is non-religious and non-political,
allowing us to assist anyone in need
regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, age,
religion, political view or sexual
orientation.
WHAT WE DO
We foster successful relationships between caring University of Ghana student volunteers, primary pupils and Junior high school students. We tutor and mentor in English reading proficiency as well as in other subjects.
How we do our work
• EdAid empowers University student volunteers, children,
families, and communities to be lead actors in the process
of achieving lasting, sustainable and positive changes in
their lives. EdAid’s strategy mix include capacity
development, effective partnerships; and community
mobilization of key actors to strengthen them for
effective response to child rights issues and address
negative socio-cultural practices affecting children’s right
and well being.

How we do our work
• At the local level, EdAid works with community based
organizations (CBOs) and local NGOs to plan and
implement programmes. At the national/ regional/ district
levels, EdAid will collaborate with governmental
structures, including district assemblies, in programmes
planning, implementation and monitoring, without direct
funds transfers.
• Gender will be mainstreamed into our programmes and
risk management practice enhanced

• Self sponsorship.
What we do with money
• We support development work in communities in
partnership with community based organizations (CBOs),
ministries, departments and agencies (MDA), Children,
women and men.

Where we work
• EdAid Club, University of Ghana is being hosted on the
University of Ghana, campus to collaborate with Schools
and communities. We assist by offering university student
volunteers for tutoring and mentoring during allocated
times

• Otinibi Community Guidance and counseling group,
Health education programs, Odo Kuo-community
cooperative, Achimota. Tsito Audome community library
project etc.
