Support for Communication
National Liaison Points (NLPs): form a liaison between the EI E2B and local Member state activities to facilitate large scale follow-up actions all over Europe and rapid dissemination of E2B R&D results
Main tasks of NLPs:1. To disseminate E2B information to the national stakeholders as a
starting point for upscaling (e.g. in National Programs). 2. To link the National priorities to the E2B agenda, as a prerequisite
for creating impact, i.e. large scale local follow-up actions.3. To set-up a national network of all stakeholders in order to define
the national priorities, to mobilise involvement/commitment throughout the value chain, and to pave the way for national follow-up actions. It should particularly address SME’s (mostly regionally active).
The NLP network has now representatives from 13 countries. We welcome contacts for Sweden and Norway.
The NLP concept
• 17 May: Successful webinar to start mobilising proposals for upcoming E2B calls– 45 registered attendees members and non-members of E2BA– 9 different countries participated– 7 presentations from organisations across the EU pitching project ideas– 14 participants described the type of partner they are looking for– 5 introductions have been facilitated since
• The event was hosted by the UK Knowledge Transfer Network and was well received
• UK National Contact Points helped solve specific questions regarding rules and requirements
• The NLP network envisages using online seminars in the future to encourage interaction of partners across Europe
NLP Network Recent Activities
Next
Key items in the agenda:• Sharing best practice and experience from contacts that have
been actively engaging national communities• Facilitate access to current E2B calls• Contribute to the roadmap update• Contribute to create impact from existing projects

Industrial Technologies Conference
22
We, the undersigned, represent key industrial sectors employing over 19 million people in Europe*. Our belief is that innovative products and processes provide the only sustainable way for our industries to thrive in global competition and to continue to create jobs in Europe. We know that Europe benefits from having an exceptionally strong technology base.
We wish to work closely with the research community to develop innovations which can be applied in new products and services, and we commit to an open dialogue and responsible partnerships with research centres and universities, to communicate our needs and to be open to new technological possibilities. We recognise that governments play a critical role in funding research in areas where the level of uncertainty makes it impossible for companies or consortia to undertake such research alone.
We also believe that public investment can and should go further, to support activities that, whilst closer to market, are still risky and knowledge-intensive, such as piloting and prototypes.
European governments at all levels must also ensuring that we face a level playing field in global competitionIndustry's role is to take these innovations and support from our partners in research and government and to convert them into new products and services which will help our companies to grow.
We know that this will require our own investment in research and development, commercialisation and mass production.
Our industries are ready to enter into joint programmes and investments and foresee that our own investment in Europe will leverage that of the public sector by a factor of four or more.
