1 General Information

Azure is a cloud computing service made to help developers build, test, and deploy services

through Microsoft-managed data centers. The service also provides certain software product

keys like Windows 10, Project Professional and Visio to those with a valid CSUS email.

More information can be found at their Students FAQ webpage.

2 Downloading Azure

1. Go to the Microsoft Azure website at azure.microsoft.com.

2. Click Sign in in the top right (Figure 1).

3. Sign in your CSUS email (i.e. “[email protected]”), then click Next (Figure 2).

4. Enter your My Sac State credentials, then click Login (Figure 3).

5. Click Portal in the top right (Figure 4).

6. Click on Education (Figure 5).

a. If you don’t see the Education button, search “Education” in the search bar at

the top of the page and click on it in the results (Figure 6).

7. If you’ve never used Azure before, click on Claim your Azure credit now (Figure 7). If you

have already made an account, skip to 13.

8. Click Activate Now (Figure 8).

9. You will be asked to verify your identity. Enter your phone number and press either Text

me or Call me (Figure 9).

10. Enter the verification code you received and click Verify (Figure 10)

11. Enter your information and click Next (Figure 11).

12. Click the checkbox next to “I agree” and click Sign up (Figure 12).

13. Click on Software on the left side (Figure 13).

14. On this page, there is a list of software that can be downloaded for free (Figure 14).

15. If you’re looking for a specific software, use the search bar (Figure 15).
