Call for Papers Economics of digital piracy This Special Issue of Information Economics and Policy will be Co-Edited by Martin Peitz, Professor of Economics, University of Mannheim, and Joel Waldfogel, Professor of Business and Public Policy, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. We solicit theory and empirical contributions on issues related to digital piracy. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: – the functioning of file-sharing systems, – the design of digital IP rights and DRM systems, – the effect of file sharing on sales of legitimate products and – the creation, distribution, pricing and packaging of digi- tal products in response to piracy. Contributions may be relevant to multiple industries, or may have a particular industry focus on, say, music, mov- ies, or software. The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2009, and we intend to publish the issue in 2010. Please submit elec- tronically to http://www.ees.elsevier.com/iepol/.
