MEGA+MIGS is proud to take steps in order to ensure an environmentally friendlyevent that reflects its commitment to holding a safe and progressive expo. As atrade that is always geared toward the future, the Quebec video game industryshares the responsibilities of its many representatives and developers to promoteecological and social values. We at MEGA+MIGS strongly believe that we have arole to play in creating the province – and the world – of tomorrow alongsidemembers of the Quebec video game industry, and plan to actively work with themin order to achieve that goal.

1. MEGA+MIGS management has created a “Digital Priority” initiative that aimsto drastically reduce paper use during our planning stages and throughout theevent itself.

• On our smartphone-optimized website, our maps, timetables, and otherdocuments will be available at all times. Free Wi-Fi will be set up duringthe entire event for visitors to have easy access to the site.

• Our Meet To Match app will allow industry professionals not only to haveaccess to all the information listed above, but also to schedule meetings,as well as many other services.

2. Multiple garbage and recycling bins will be present on event premises. When indoubt, we encourage any and all visitors to check the City of Montreal’swebsite to view accepted recycling materials.

3. We also encourage all event participants to bring reusable water bottles to theevent, in order to limit the amount of single-use water bottles as much aspossible.

1. MEGA+MIGS will prioritize partnerships with local suppliers, in order to reducematerial delivery distances and our carbon footprint, both during our planningstages and throughout the event.

2. MEGA+MIGS management attaches a great deal of importance to working withdistributors who are receptive to ecofriendly practices.

3. We greatly encourage all able-bodied visitors and exhibitors to use Montreal’spublic transit system. The event’s official website will contain links to the“Société de Transport de Montréal” (STM) website, which contains informationlike schedules, maps, fares, and downloadable mobile apps.

4. We will also promote carpooling to MEGA+MIGS visitors, and will establishpartnerships with many carsharing platforms available in Montreal year-round.

1. Partnering with local companies and suppliers is not just a strategy to reduceour carbon footprint: it’s a great way to ensure that Montreal-basedbusinesses get the recognition they deserve, and participate in stimulatingQuebec’s economy.

2. Quebec’s video game industry is synonymous with inclusion and diversity.Therefore, our goal is make MEGA+MIGS a safe and welcoming place for all ourvisitors and exhibitors, and the event will be promoted toward audiences of allages, cultural origins, sexual orientations and gender identities. Eventpremises will also be equipped to welcome people with mobility impairments.

3. We have also produced a code of conduct to ensure that all visitors andexhibitors behave respectfully with each other. Security staff will enforce thiscode of conduct and ensure that all attendees respect it.

4. A bursary program will be established via the Montreal Indie Gaming Awards(MIGA) to recognize outstanding independent developers in a variety ofcategories. We will also partner with various industry players to createadditional bursary programs. Our goal will be, for future MEGA+MIGS editions,to create further bursary programs to reward local talent.

Our goal is that, via all these aforementioned initiatives, MEGA+MIGS will berepresentative of the Quebec video game industry’s values. We invite allconcerned parties to carefully consider and act accordingly to the key pointsoutlined in this plan. We will also continue to integrate and elaborate newmethodologies to ensure that MEGA+MIGS remains an ecofriendly event during itsdevelopment, and throughout the event itself.
