The Installation is made by screwing (8. off 5 mm dia. screws not provided) a Wall Fixing Plate (WFP6/9/12) to suitably spaced purlins/ trimmers and weather-sealing this to the structure with a lead or zinc apron.
The trimmed opening size is:–
l 6” Fan = 320 x 320 mm
l 9” Fan = 385 x 385 mm
l 12” Fan = 450 x 450 mm
To complete the water-tightness of the installation, drill out the 4 dimpled hole positions (6 mm dia.) in the base of the Weather Terminal (WT6/9/12), place this centrally on the Fixing Plate, with its lower
edge sealed by silicon mastic, and then, using the M5 screws, washers and seals provided, attach the Weather Terminal to the Spacer Moulding (WS6/9/12).
With the installation now weather-tight, the Fan may be fitted into the Spacer as convenient.
Once the Fan is fitted, the Spigot Adaptor (SA6/9/12) may be screwed to its lower face and ducting attached as required.
On 6” Fans, the Spigot Adaptor may be replaced by a Multi-Spigot Adaptor (MS6) which will accept up to 4 – 100 mm dia. individual ducts.

The Installation is made by constructing a timber or builders-work curb to the dimensions shown below:-
centrally and squarely over the curb and screw the Terminal to the curb using 6mm Wood Screws and Sealing Washers.
Offer the Spacer (WS6, WS9 or WS12) to the underside of the secured Terminal and attach using the 4.off M5 screws provided.
Attach the fan to the Spacer, again using the screws provided, and complete the electrical wiring as required.
The ceiling opening should be closed using a suitable 300 x 300mm grille (CD6 fan) or 450 x 450mm grille (CD9 or CD12 fans).
To complete the installation, drill out the 8.off dimpled holes in the base of the Roof Terminal (RT6, RT9 or RT12), position the Terminal

Replacing existing Greenwood Eco FansThe fan is fixed as the previous fan into the existing channels on the wall liner. The picture frame can be used if desired, however the metal brackets are not required.
Replacing existing T series FansThe brackets supplied with the kit can be aligned with the screw fixing holes of the previous fan. This then positions the receiving nut on the bracket in the correct location to allow fixing of the Greenwood refurbishment fan.
Wiring details – Greenwood Eco FansWhen replacing Greenwood fans in many cases the wiring will remain the same, however if the existing controller is of the RC1 or RC2 type installed with CX fans, then the switch functionally changes. The RC1 switch becomes an intake/off/extract switch operating the fan on high speed only. The RC2 switch maintains the on/off/auto functions, but at installation the direction is selected.
Wiring details – T series FansA Greenwood CD fan can be used to replace a Vent Axia ‘T’ Series fan, retaining the original controller, providing the controller is of the ‘Ecotronic 130’, ‘Rangemaster’ or ‘T’ Series Controller type.
This arrangement will give the following operating features:• Adjustable speed
• Adjustable minimum speed
• Extract/intake
• Fan off – shutter open
• Fan off – shutter closed.
Limitations are:• Control of single fan only
• Integral sensors not possible
• Automatic ECO setting not available.
This arrangement will give the following operating features:• Single speed
• Extract/intake
• On/off.
Limitations are:• Control of single fan only
• Integral sensors not possible
• Automatic ECO setting not available.
NB. All electrical products must be wired and installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with IEE and local regulations which apply. The fans must be connected to mains power by using a fused double pole isolating switch having a contact separation of at least 3mm.

Cleaning / Maintenance
•Always isolate fan from mains before cleaning.
•For all fan sizes remove grille and clean in warm soapy water with a non-abrasive cloth.
•The impeller can be removed by carefully pulling the fan blades from either side at the same time. These are to be cleaned in the same way as the above.
•The rear shutters can be cleaned but care must be taken when removing and replacing.
•Ensure that the shutter blades pins are correctly seated on the outside rim.
•Remove shutters via the retaining screws (3 will be found on the 6” and 9” models, 7 will be found on the 12” model). Once removed, the shutter assembly can be cleaned in warm soapy water and must be dried thoroughly before replacing.
•When replacing ensure that the shutter assembly blades are fully closed and that the assembly, as a whole, is correctly seated before tightening the screws.
•When the shutter assembly has been replaced, ensure that the shutter blades are free to open by placing a hand on either side of the shutter assembly blades and carefully opening.
•Once the interior grille shutter assembly has been cleaned, the fan’s main housing can be wiped with a clean damp, non-abrasive cloth.
