resources are exclusively reserved for the designated

customer only, so that services intended for other

Restoration, a GMPLS-like protection scheme for

tunnels that have been switched to their protection

The LightSOFTGUI clearly displays these schemes on

screenandprovidesavarietyofmonitoring tools for the

various protection states, as well as configuration of the

relevant protection parameters. LightSOFT also enables

Working with duplicate management hardware, one station

servesas theactivesite (primaryserver)and theotheras the

data backups (replication) between primary stations and the

backup server. Backup data can subsequently be restored

(synchronized) on a mirror station. For enhanced efficiency,

a system of incremental backups at three different levels is

included.

Failureintheactivesiteleadstoaquickswitchovertothestandbysiteandresumednetworkmanagement.Theintelligent

databasesignaturefeatureupdatesstandbysiteswithallNEconfigurationdatachangedsincethelastreplication.When

theprimaryserver isrestored,areplicationfromthestandbysitepreserveschangesmadewhiletheprimaryserverwas

down.AclientworkstationcanbeconnectedoverthesameLANtoboththeactiveandstandbysites,soaclientsession
