An initiative has been started to encourage world Jewry to continue to reach out to the families with words of Nehama and Hizzuk, comfort and strength - directly - to show that we care and are still together with them and all of Klal Yisrael in their loss. Young Professionals Lunch, Shabbat Day, July 26th • 12:30pm in the ballroom Join the Lincoln Square Synagogue Young Professionals for a communal Shabbat Lunch. The cost is $36 for members, $40 for non-members, $180 to sponsor (includes two seats.)

Voice your objection to the Metropolitan Opera's presentation of "The Death of Klinghoffer." Starting on October 20th, the Metropolitan Opera will stage eight presentations of the controversial opera, "The Death of Kling-hoffer." The opera has been widely denounced as justifying the Palestinian terrorists who hijacked the Achille Lauro cruise ship in 1985, murdered disabled veteran Leon Klinghoffer only because he was Jewish, and dumped him and his wheelchair over-board. Klinghoffer's two daughters have joined the denunciations. If you believe that in a world filled with kidnappings, terrorism and atrocities Leon Klinghoffer's murderers should not be romanticized, we urge you to e-mail your feelings to Met general man-ager Peter Gelb at pgelb@metopera.org. The Torah teaches us, "lo ta'amod al dam re'eahca" -- "do not stand idly by your brother's blood."

Synagogue Security Course! Two Tuesday Evenings in July Become an LSV: Local Synagogue Volunteer

We invite all able bodied men and women to register for this free 8 hour course. Graduates of the course will become members of the LSS security team and will be assigned to partner with an experienced

CSS trained Team Leader. Tues. night July 22, 2014 (4 hours) and Tues. night July 29, 2014 (4 hours)
