    Cold War-esque Spy Thrillers

    Fantasy/Sword and Sorcery

    Crime/Heist/Gang Action

    Why Play in Eberron?

Eberron is a small, cohesive, and carefully-designed world, unlike older Campaign Settings that were

stitched together on a need-to-retcon-basis over 30 years. (*cough* Forgotten Realms *cough*)

It lacks the universal were fucked-ness of Dark Sun or Ravenloft, but its not completely absent from thesetting. Moreover, Eberron is open to wild and fun adventures that would be awkward in other settings.

Eberron as a world has many completely unique features that set it apart from other high-fantasy settingsand makes it worth exploring over and over again.

Age of Dragons: At the beginning of time three great dragons appeared from the ether.

They were Siberys the Proud, Khyber the Dark, and Eberron the Vibrant.

Strive happened immediately, and Khyber slew Siberys.

Eberron encircled and bound Khyber to ensure Khyber would hurt no one else. The remains of Siberys became the glowing ring that encircles the world. The body of Eberron

formed the seas and continents. The bones of Khyber formed the dark passages inside Eberron thattwist away into Chaos.

    Side note:

The magical Dragonshards are said to be the crystallized essence of the three dragons. Thesedragonshards can be used to create technology more advanced than in any other setting.

Yellow Siberys dragonshards come from the sky and enhance the power of Dragonmarks and are

used to create the magic items used by Dragonmarked Houses to dominate the economy. RedEberron shards are found throughout the land and enhance magic of all kinds; they are particularlygood at holding rituals like a spell book would. Bluish-purple Khyber shards are found deepunderground and are powerful binding agents used to secure elementals to magical machines. Thesupernatural properties of these dragonshards are more valuable than any gemstone.

    Mythology of Eberron

Age of Demons: The supposed first rulers of Eberron were fiends spawned from the dark depths of Khyber.

The only beings in Eberron capable of resisting the demons were the dragons.

The demons, incapable of invading Argonnessen, and the dragons, unable to establishholdings outside Argonnessen, were at a stalemate for millenia.

The first great shift came with the arrival of the couatls.

Many couatls sacrificed their pure souls to help the dragons overthrow the demons.

Today few couatls remain and the dragons have withdrawn to Argonnessen.

Age of Giants: The first civilization to leave behind signs of their existence

    were the giants of Xendrik.

Using their great strength and powerful magic (and legions ofslaves) the giants shaped the continent into a vast empire. Eventually they came close to ruling the world. After tens of thousands of years, the civilization either

collapsed or was destroyed. Now, all that remains of their reign are the scattered ruins in

    Xendrik.
