Equipment!!!
• Buying equipment, the
equipment needed was:
• 30 gallon bucket
• 15 gallon bucket
• Drain
• 1 inch PVC tube
• Clay pellets
• Water pump
• Silicone
• After we got the stuff we needed, we came up with a plan on how
we wanted to construct it and how it would work.
• Building: we started off with cutting holes in the top black tub for
the drain and over flow, to fit in.
Step by step how to build!
Step by step 2
• The stand: in order for the black tub to stay
up higher where it needs to be,our group
decided that we should have a stand
underneath to hold the tub up.
• Coleman built and painted a stand so it can
tolerate water.
• Putting it all together: we put the stand in
the bottom bucket and set the black top
bucket on top
• We secured the drain and the overflow
tube in the exact spot we wanted it.
• We had to wait for the silicone to dry.
• After that we had everything all set to go we
filled it with the amount of water we wanted.
Step by step 3
• Trying it out: it's all put
together and ready to go.
• Using the pump we filled the
growing tub with water to see
how well the drain and over
flow tube works.
• Fixing any problems that
occurred: Patching up tubes
and cutting final lengths of
tubing
Clay pellets
• We filled the black tub 3/4 of
the way full with clay pellets.
• After we added the pellets we
set the mesh pots in the top of
the clay pellets.
How it works!!
• The bottom tub is filled with
water and nutrients, it fills the
top tub up for a certain
amount of time and then will
drain .
• The growing tub has clay
pellets in it and they will soak
up the water. Soaking the
plants!
