The Flood of 2016 !!
A Monumental "Thank You!" Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us before, during, and since our facility sustained sig-nificant flood damage. We've been so overwhelmed by the magnitude of your support, and we're so thrilled to say that we've hit our goal. After surveying the damages, we anticipated that it would take $75,000 to get us back up and running. In less than three weeks through donations of volunteer hours, materials, and monetary funds, we're on target to resume our February classes as anticipated. We've been so blessed by all of you who believe in what we do. It's because of your support that we'll be able to continue making a difference in the daily lives of the disabled in our community. We're still in the process of repairs and restoration, but financially, we're now able to get it all done. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has given to our cause. You've blessed us more than we expected or could have asked for. EAT has a rockstar group of volunteers and support-ers, and we're proud to have you as part of our team.

What EAT Means to Me . . . Participant & Volunteer
Hi, my name is Julia. I’ve been involved with Equine-Assisted Therapy since
early spring of this year. I started taking lessons at Kraus Farms when I was a
sophomore in high school. After taking lessons for a while the skills got more
and more challenging for me and then my anxiety would really kick in. I would
get so much anxiety that I would fear going each week and that’s when I decided
I needed a slower paced environment.
I have been dealing with anxiety, depression and ADHD for many years. At first
I didn’t know if I would be accepted into the therapy program because I know it
is mainly used for physical disabilities. Since I got accepted into the program I
have started enjoying riding again, I have also gained more horse handling skills
which has really boosted my confidence and relationship with the horse I ride (Brady).
I have Dayna as my instructor and mentor. She is awesome! Dayna
asked me to volunteer and I’m glad she did because I’m not sure if I
would be able to convince myself to become a volunteer due to all
my anxiety.
Volunteering has been so much fun! EAT is the right environment
for me. It’s a good activity for my anxiety, depression and ADHD
because I socialize and help others. My final thought is that I help
others and they help me.
This years list of those wonderful volunteers who have been with us for 5 and even 10 years is aston-ishing! As you can imagine, volunteers with any organization come and go as their lives change on al-most a daily basis but let's give it up for these people who have dedicated such a huge portion of their time to help our participants enjoy the benefits our horses have to offer!
