Everyone wants to have a focused, productive and successful life. The problem is, most of the time it’sdifficult to achieve because of the clutter and distractions that are laid in front of us which could also result to alot of stress. But there’s a solution to all your clutter problems and that is to become organized. Now this isn’tjust about neatly stacking a pile of papers on your desk, it’s about developing a habit of being organized inevery aspect of your life. Here are easy ways to keep you organized.
Make a list. If you’re thinking about a to-do list then good for you, but what I’m talking about is more
than that. Aside from making a list of things that you need to do, also make a list of things that are
causing you problems or stress like not having enough time to finish your work, the heavy traffic,
errands, bills, etc. Then focus on solving one problem on that list per day. Once done, remove it from
the list then move on to the next. This will help you focus on one problem at a time rather than getting
yourself overwhelmed with all the things you need to do.
Prioritize. The list mentioned above can help you prioritize and get things done. But if you prioritize
all of your day to day activities as well such as making sure that your errands are finished before you
go shopping, this will make things easier for you. It will also help avoid getting yourself distracted and
from wasting your time and effort on things that are not really important.
Clean up. This is not just about making your workplace and other parts of your house tidy and clean.Rather this is about getting rid of the things that you don’t need or things that can become a
distraction. Also try to put things in their right places, like books should be on shelves and otherbelongings in their proper storage, so you can easily find them whenever they are needed. If you don’t
need them anymore, throw them away. Simple as that.
Develop a daily routine. Having a daily routine helps you get things done while not having to worry
about other things that you should be doing. Set a schedule for the things that you need to do starting
from the moment you wake up then stick to it. This consistency will help bring about a habit that helps
you do things automatically. In other words, you can get things done without actually having to think
of it all the time.
Plan, plan, then plan again. Always have a plan ready for tasks that you want to accomplish. When
you have a plan ready, have a second plan ready as well in case your first plan didn’t work. If
possible, have third plan ready. For example, if you’re planning to have some clothes dry-cleaned,
think ahead of where else you can have them cleaned if the store is closed. This can help you save
time and avoid worry and stress.
As you can see, if you have a disorganized lifestyle it can be solved through your own actions. Never allow
aspects of your life to become too cluttered just because you failed to plan and do something about it. Start
taking control of your life by organizing it.
